I was really excited to come here for my birthday after reading all the amazing reviews. My family is Filipino and we love kamayen/budol fight.
The customer service I received over the phone while setting the dinner up was awesome, sadly, everything was downhill from there.
The private space they offer is in the basement, which was fine because it was roomy.. but it definitely feels like a basement. Also, once they set us up, we never really saw anyone again. They didn't check up on us, or see if we needed anything. They gave us a case of water, and helped set up the karaoke machine and that's it.
The food options were good, they offer more selection than other places we've been to. But everything was very cold.
I had also let them know that we needed some non-seafood versions as I have family members who can't have seafood for medical reasons. Joy had confirmed this over the phone. When we sat down, I noticed there was seafood everywhere and let the guy know. He said that no one had told me, and he acted like he wasn't going to do anything about it. He said that he had set it up already and that they could just take the seafood off. But I pushed that it was confirmed and that they can't even eat the rice if it's touched seafood. They also told me over the phone they could make extra chicken and pork for the non-seafood eaters. Joy came down and apologized and they made us extra food for the non-seafood eaters. I just didn't appreciate how that was handled.
Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not...
Read moreFirst time experience with the Boodle fight Option. Service was going well until it came time to pay for the bill. Joy was the contact person and she turned around and changed the price per person. Nothing was discussed prior and she decides last minute to charge the fee per person as Adult fee. We brought six children with us. We requested that no fish be served for the children and two adults (chicken wings was the alternative) and Joy passes the phone to the Owner who agreed to this. Joy was not involved but then when it came time to pay, she decides that the Adult fee would be charged. This is not fair and we even told her that this was not the agreement. As a result, we will not be returning. Joy left a bad taste in our mouth and demonstrated Poor Customer relations treatment. It's too bad because, we were going to invite more friends to try this place. The food was mediocre at best. We will try Alan's Filipino Restaurant which has the Boodle Fight and has a better customer relations and accommodating for children. The owner Beth should reconsider whether Joy should represent on her behalf. English is obviously not her...
Read moreA family member recommended this place so I went and checked this place out since it’s actually close to my house and I’m about supporting local food industry during this challenging time too. My first time was fine, they have wide selection of Filipino food, they had hand sanitizer right when you come in and they have floor markings to maintain physical distancing, everyone was wearing mask so it felt safe.
Came back the second time and I was pretty disappointed and grossed out with what I witnessed. A server was helping me with my orders when one guy from the kitchen casually comes out and helped himself with some food(which is totally fine) but please not when you’re not wearing a mask/shield while you’re chatting with employees facing the food section.
I was ready to leave but I refrained myself coz I felt bad/shy at that time. While paying at the cashier side, I saw another guy in the kitchen not wearing a mask.
If customers are required to wear a mask inside the store, shouldn’t employees specially kitchen staffs observe the strictest health and safety protocols.I hope this helps you improve...
