Jabs is on St. Clair West and is easily accessible via TTC (no street cars however since the street car track is down until next year, so if you do take the TTC you will have to board the shuttle bus).
As soon as you enter the restaurant there is a ordering area and then a seating area towards the back of the restaurant. There is also a washroom in the basement.
Ordering: The menu isn't large, and so there are pretty concise choices to go with. I went with a triple cheeseburger (double cheeseburger with an extra patty). The cashier was knowledgeable and very helpful when it came to what type of burger to order. One of the waiters brings out the food to you if you said you wanted to dine in. Make sure to have your receipt with your order number on hand.
Cost: It was around $20 for the triple cheeseburger alone. It is less if you get a double cheeseburger. If you want extra sauces or an extra topping like an additional onion jam there is an additional cost.
Wait Time: I went on a Saturday around 4:00 PM. I waited around 15-20 minutes to get my triple cheeseburger.
The Food: The triple cheeseburger was amazing! It was greasy for sure but so good. The bread was toasted well, the onion jam was great, the jabs sauce was delicious, and the patties were smashed and crispy. The onion jam on the burger was delicious and I really wish I got another scoop of it on the side with more of their Jabs sauce as well so I could dip the burger into it.
Overall: Easily accessible by TTC (shuttle buses only though), the food is great, there is a seating area which is fantastic (I miss dining in options as some burger places have limited seating). Jabs is a great...
Read moreI went to this place to try out their burgers because I heard that they just opened up last weeks ago in this location. I ordered a Jabs Fries, Regular Fries, 2 Double Classic Burgers, 1 Cheese Burger with extra pickles on the side, and 1 Classic Burger with my pickles on the side. Sadly they forgot to give/pack my pickles on the side and I was charged for it, my last burger did not have any sauce on it, they forgot the sauce 😭 and the patty is slightly salty but is still really good! There is paid parking right beside the building, or you can park across the street if there is parking spots. This isn't a fast food restaurant so do not expect the burger to be made as fast as your everyday fast food restaurant, but it's worth the wait. Overall the employees were friendly and the burgers were good. I would recommend trying this place if you love burger, and will definitely come back here again myself.
06/15/2022 Edit: This time we went to JABS and ordered burgers and fries from here, the taste this time was not as salty as the first, the service was just as good as the first time I went and the employees were really nice. The food was delicious! I will definitely come here again when I crave burgers. Would highly recommend going here at least once if you haven't...
Read moreBoth the classic and cheese burgers cost the exact same amount of money and topped with their own unique set of toppings. But if you want to substitute a topping from the classic with one from the cheese (or vice versa) it's considered an add on and you'll be charged $2.00 even if you're actually substituting. Because the two cost the same, in my opinion there shouldn't be an additional cost to substitute, especially at and obscene $2.00 charge.
The patties are very sparse on meat and the beef flavour is easily over powered by the other toppings (likely due to how little meat per pattie there is). With the quality of beef they're using I want it to be the main event and get more of it. The JABS sauce is similar to big Mac sauce, can't go wrong there.
The fries are fries and the cheese on the cheese fries is just generic liquid cheese and falls to the bottom of the plate into a puddle.
It's OK. There's not enough value for the price for me to return. And with the substitution/add-on debacle, McDonald's is a few doors down and tastes just as good with better fries and a...
