Cocoalatte — Restaurant in Toronto

February 15, 2024 update I have been a loyal as in daily customer in person and through Uber eats for the last six years. That’s a lot. In all seasons. I own three of their shirts. I have purchased various products from them provided by other vendors in the front area. I wish I could only visit when the owners (male and female) are working. Always in a positive mood no matter how busy the place is. Whenever the woman with the red hair (current colour) and fake lashes is working she is unpleasant (scoffing, looking visibly annoyed etc). She’s been working there for years and still seems consistently overwhelmed. The owners weren’t in today so I suppose she has taken the chief stew lead and likes to let it show (this was the same when they were on vacation last year and she didn’t do Uber eats for 1-2 weeks so I would drive there for 20 minutes one way ) I’ve even had a situation where she served the young man behind me whom she knew by name. She knew his order by heart. Yet today, she got my order wrong that I repeated three times (large London fog latte lactose free extra hot). Today, I was denied dining in during a snowstorm and when I wasn’t able to be at home for the next hour. I offered to sit in the back patio to enjoy my meal quickly. In the snow. The woman on the barista stand (tall,curly hair) was smirking and made my drink wrong even though I repeated it three times. To refund me they gave me cash which I didn’t have a wallet to put it in as I paid with my Amex via wallet app. So now I have dirty change hands. In addition to juggling three bags. In addition they gave me the wrong change back.

Previous review: Obsessed with the fruit crepe and large London fog latte lactose free and extra hot :) I occasionally get the raspberry filled croissant or pain au chocolat and always a ginger molasses cookie. I have had the avocado salad The soups Fruit smoothies As well as purchased one of their sweaters/tshirts, maple syrup, honey, jams Most of the team is always very cheerful Sitting inside or outside is enjoyable, Love sitting by the map and exploring the world Tropic of Capricorn...

Smashing IT!

I just love this cute little gem in the heart of the St. Clair West Community.

This spot really gives off great vibes and it inspires a family oriented experience.

It's so nice seeing all different walks of life, ages, professions and regular everyday folks come in and enjoy their favorite coffee and or eats in this establishment.

And let me tell you something else, the owners of this place know good food and great coffee. Also great customer service. I always enjoy my interaction with the staff a this place.

I ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich and it was SO SO UTTERLY AMAZING!

It was tangy, it was zingy, it was salty, it was smokey, the chicken was so tender and the greens so amazingly cool and fresh to accompany the tangy zingy-ness of it all!

Also loved the choice of bread, the bread was amazing as well!

My usual hot drink order is the Chai Latte. It's always made to perfection.

So if you're in the St. Clair West area and looking for a really cool vibe of a place for that favorite cup of Joe and some great eats, stop on by...

I will review my second visit with Cocoa Latte, but want to touch on my first visit where I picked up some baked goods and seen a barista ever so carefully preparing an iced coffee that looked amazing. I was ignored for a good 10min when I walked in but I gave the staff the benefit of the doubt and the barista was too intent on perfecting the iced coffee she was so focused on making. I thought to try it the next time.

Come my second visit where I try the iced coffee, I came in wanting to explain to a different barista working how much at awe I was of their iced coffee preparation. But they seemed to establish no rapport and seemed like in a quick haste to take my order and leave. I didn't mind the "nice" condescending customer service tone, I just wanted good coffee. I watched them pour coffee in a cup, then milk then handed it over to me and quickly stepped outside to attend to customers outside. Complete opposite of the way I saw coffee prepared the first time I came.
