Chinese Dumplings — Restaurant in Toronto

I ordered the egg rolls and spring rolls and asked for just sautéed green beans no garlic. The egg rolls were good. It comes with 4. The filling could have been better and the plum sauce was a red sauce (fake plum sauce?) and not plum sauce (the orange yellow one) so I wish they had the regular plum sauce. The spring roll order comes with 8 small ones. They weren’t anything unique. The green beans I appreciate them doing special for me. I liked the sauce. (Soy? ). I think they were deep fried not sautéed according to the bill. Knowing I was dining alone I wish they could have made an exception and given me half orders. My total came to $46 which I felt to be overly expensive for what I was getting. I also doubt I’ll be eating the leftovers as I don’t like leftovers so I hope to drive by someone who will. They charge 2.4 percent for using a credit card. The tip calculation for 15 percent included this surcharge amount which I don’t think is proper to do The staff are all very nice and the environment was nice. There were two other tables in there while I was eating. I liked watching the woman making the fresh dumplings in the window. I’ll come back when I’m craving...

I have ordered Chinese food several times from this restaurant and found it very good so I decided to go on person to this place to eat in. I hardly sat down that my stomach started to turn as the place smelt of sewage... Probably from the rest rooms below. I quickly left. If these people did something about this they would probably get a lot more customers! The place is ok except for that.

Update, I revisited this restaurant in mid-March and found the place much improved. The place did not smell but was clean and most inviting. The restrooms were very clean so I am changing my review. The food was very good and the server gave us a little extra desert after our meal( we had not ordered dessert). I shall return and recommend this place. It is not fancy but an old style Chinese restaurant but it is probably one of the best in this area. Plus there is no loud music!!! It is a restful place where you can hear the conversation...

My table looked like it was feeding a large family! Nope, it was all just for me!

The customer service is excellent, such talented cooks, the food hot, fresh, and SO SO TASTY.

Love this place and can't wait to come back.
