Java Joe's — Restaurant in Toronto

I can see that there is a 5 star review given to this location but there is no way that it is accurate. The prices here are about $1.50 - 2.00 more expensive than Tim's however the food is essentially the same. Their bacon and eggs are cooked in the microwave. Their lunch menu is under-seasoned and bland. The lettuce/spinach/greens are not fresh and it tastes a little rubbery. On more than a handful of occasions I have had to ask them to mix the dressing into the salad. I understand that it can get busy but when you are paying $8.00 or more for a salad you expect it to at least meet some standards.

Upon my first visit, the staff were making racial remarks about me. I didn't care, so I just shrugged it off. The food is delicious and simple. It's slightly overpriced for what it's worth, but their paninis and baked goods are the best. The Italian sodas aren't worth the price at all, don't buy them. I ate here every day while I was in town for work. Everything I ordered was delicious, and I felt like a regular after the first visit. The owner was very welcoming, and seemed passionate about his coffee. The younger blonde at the register was so sweet, helpful and adorable, that I'd probably have kept coming back even IF the food and coffee wasn't so good. Thanks...
