Jjs Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in Toronto

After reading these amazing reviews of this place, I happened to walk in here with my friend for a quick coffee or tea. We thought this will be a better place than the popular coffee chain next door. While we were casually browsing the menu, the staff assumed that we're gonna grab a coffee and sit there for hours, and quickly reminded us that it is a place to have lunch. Wow! That came as such a rude statement. We picked up our bags and left, while the staff was grinning away, shamelessly.

I've been in the customer service industry for the past 15 yrs or so and I have never treated in such a manner ever, or ever treated any guest like this. So sad to know that a wonderful neighborhood has places like this too! Goes without saying, never...

Great bites for very reasonable prices. The reason why I love to come here the most, however, is the lovely family that runs this café. They know every customer that comes through the door, their usual order, and always ask how their family, friends, or significant other is doing. It is such a friendly, welcoming place, like a home away from home. The older Korean gentleman is especially friendly and has an amazing sense of humour. My family and I have been coming here for the sandwiches and lovely customer service for years now, and they always remember all of us. My school moved around the area so I went this place for the first time after I see all the good reviews. Price itself was not high, but I was really disappointed with the small small amount of portion. I would say it is a "diet" or "kids meal" portion. I had Bibimbop and the ingredients looked fresh but was really soggy. They only accept Debit and cash, and they charged me extra 10cents for the debit which I found out later checking my bill, was not informed by them. I am not sure if I go back there again because of too small portion of the food...
