In my journey of denial to find a location that still carried the old spicy chicken recipe, I visited this location with my girlfriend. Sadly, this was not the place as it carries the new recipe. My visit killed all hope that any Jollibee location in the GTA carries the old spicy recipe. The old spicy chicken recipe was spicy, juicy, and flavourful, while milk is spicier than the new recipe which is also both dry and bland. At least the mashed potatoes were still pretty good, but potatoes aren’t enough to carry an entire restaurant unless you're from PEl, which in that case, it probably carries your entire economy.
To put my unspeakable feelings of dismay into words, the old spicy chicken recipe is like that one beautiful German exchange student who visits for a semester and the two of you hit it off, spark a flame ready to set off the fireworks, and then she soon returns to Germany snuffing out any hope of the future you imagined in your head with her. Yet years later you still yearn for her. Imagine those dire feelings of longing and multiply it by a billion zillion, and you'll feel a fraction of what I believe most of us feel towards the old spicy chicken recipe.
In a way I envy those who did not get to taste the greatness of Jollibee's old chicken recipe. They'll be able to sleep peacefully at night not knowing what once used to be and live out their lives without this gaping hole of desires within their heart.
I hope you are sorry it had to end this way, because quite frankly the spicy chicken ruined the rest of my day, and to be honest it probably also ruined my girlfriend's day even though she did not eat any but had to listen to me complain the...
Read moreMy hubby and I usually dine at this location every weekend since it opened when we crave for junk food. The spicy chicken joy has never disappointed us. It is very flavorful, fresh, crunchy and juicy! And both spicy and mild flavor comes with a free gravy! If you order the mild one of course the flavor is mild but it is still very tasty comparing to Pop-eyes very oily, salty and always overcooked chicken and kfc's bland, very oily and plus they cut the thigh in half. I have never been to chick-fil-A as it is too pricey for me. If you you come from a background that eats spicy food everyday, then the spice level might be underwhelming for you but not for people who doesnt eat spicy. Its all relative! The wait can be 20 minutes if it's busy day but that is totally acceptable for us. A little wait means the food is being cooked fresh. For those people who comments about how small the dessert/peach mango pie, it is small as the price is cheaper. For those who complained about the pasta not having any sausages, please do post the photo next time for us to see if you really didn't get any sausages.
The only disappointing thing is the staff don't ask customers to leave no matter how long they stay after they finish their meal on a very busy weekend while other people are waiting. My hubby and I waited for 45 minutes for a family who took their time chatting and laughing. By the time we finished our meal after another 30 minutes the family is still on the table...
Read moreWhoever was the manager on duty (June 7, 2024 at around 1830- wearing glasses, chin length hair with a side part and gel, male) please, practice your customer service.
I was picking up my big order (which was around $70 to be frank, and comprised of 10 pcs chicken, palabok, and mango pies) which was in bag with no handles. When I sat down, the bag broke because of how heavy it was, and a piece of chicken fell down. I then asked one of the workers for a bag with handles because whomever packaged my food thought it would be alright to put this heavy order in a no-handle bag. The employee had to escalate this to the manager, I’m assuming, simply to get a bag with handles! After consistently mentioning I just wanted a bag with handles, the manager kept insisting that I wanted a new bucket of chicken. He then left the counter, walked to where I was sitting, and asked where the chicken was, since there was nothing. Obviously, I had thrown out the piece. Who leaves food on the ground for others to pick up? He also wanted to see my receipt. To make things worse, at the end of the interaction, he CLAPPED his hands and told me to be careful with my food.
This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experience. I think moving forward since this establishment is located in a mall they should be giving all their customers bags with handles especially if they’re going to be walking around rather than being cheap and saving these bags for...
