Kami Sushi — Restaurant in Toronto

Nov 2022 update: Since I can't write more than one review, I am editing my original from 5 years ago to sing the praises of Kami from the rooftops:

Kami sushi remains my favorite sushi spot ever, and I eat a lot of sushi. Ive been traveling all over North America for work the past 8 years and have probably eaten at literally 200+ sushi restaurants. No one does a spicy roll better than Jason, though a few come close (and a small few indeed). If you like sushi in any way, you MUST try it. My wife and I have long since moved from Roncesvalle, but if I ever am in the city, I will drive up to an hour out of my way to get Kami. The spicy salmon rolls and hand rolls here are legitimately one of my favorite things on Earth. If I found myself on death row, and was offered a last meal, in all likelihood I would choose a spicy salmon combo tray from Kami. I am not even joking.

On top of that, Jason, the owner, is an amazing, friendly and hard working family man. The guy is so great he's been invited to customers weddings lmao. It is also very affordable for the quality.

Do not listen to any negative hype Here. The complaints about uber eats are more to do with a service than the quality of the sushi. Besides, if you order takeout of rolls don't expect them to be of the same quality as freshly made at your table.

I've been coming here for over a year since I moved to Roncy and it is my favorite sushi spot in the city. The spicy salmon rolls and hand rolls are all outstanding. The sashimi is always fresh and melts on your mouth. The service is great and Jason is always accommodating and friendly.

Really lovely Sushi restaurant. Absolutely gorgeous food, lovely interior and fantastic service!

Here are the Five S's to help potential future customers:

Space: Really clean, modern interior with comfortable seating, nice decor and a Sushi bar where the Sushi/Sashimi is made fresh, right before your eyes by an expert Chef.

Seasoning: We had a Korean salad which was seasoned really well, Agedashi tofu which had amazing flavour. Typically Agedashi Tofu can lack flavour, but this was fantastic. It had a lovely coating and also had a nice sauce. We also had Sashimi which came with a really nice Wasabi & the Soya Sauce was really nice. Over-all the sushi we had was tasty, well seasoned with fantastic flavours.

Size: Really good portion/order sizes. You won't go hungry that's for sure!

Spend: Reasonable prices which match the size of each dish.

Service: Quick service, really polite staff. Highly recommend this if you're in the...

This place is unbelievable. I've ordered through uber eats the order was going to be delivered at 18:30 then at 18:40 then at 18:50 and so on. When I called the place they asked me to repeat what I ordered three times. Then they tried to BS and tell me the ordered already left which was simply not true the order started moving 5 minutes after I hung up.Do not order from this place they don't know what they are doing and blame others for their problems. My first negative experience ordering through Uber Eats. It gets worse, two small packets of soy sauce and sushi that looked like it has been sitting around a while(in other words not too fresh).
