We drove approximately 100 km to try this restaurant based on a recent reel, but it was a major disappointment in terms of food quality and cleanliness. Firstly, we ordered the Tharav curry, which tasted exactly like chicken curry and was completely tasteless. The Porotta was overcooked, oily, and misshapen, resembling a reheated ready-made porotta. The beef fry tasted like it had been previously frozen. Most of the display items stated as unavailable . What was more concerning was the hygiene. We noticed male staff members smoking outside, then re-entering the kitchen and preparing food without changing their gloves. unfortunately they were cooking main course in the kitchen. The indoor dining area was stinky with a rotten smell, making us feel nauseous. We strongly advise against sitting inside. The female staff serving the snacks were okay in serving, but they did not wear hairnets or gloves. Considering the poor food quality, the prices were bit high. Don't expect restaurant quality here; as stated, it's more like street food in terms of taste and presentation but not authentic south Indian in taste.

I was disappointed during my visit over the past long weekend. Though the place brought back some nostalgia, the entire experience was ruined by poor service. We arrived around 11:30 p.m. and had to wait 2 hours and 15 minutes just to place our food order, followed by another 45 minutes to receive it. • Tea: 2/5 – The tea was tasty, but I ordered regular tea and was served warm masala chai instead of hot. When I requested to have it warmed up, the server became irate and visibly frustrated. • Kothu Porotta: 3.5/5 • Appam with Roast Chicken: 3.5/5 – Some of the appams were soft, while others were hard. • Snacks: Served cold. • Pickle: 3.5/5 Overall, the food did not meet expectations and certainly didn’t reflect authentic Kannur-style cuisine. Hygiene was another major concern. There was a foul-smelling trash dumpster located near the dining area and the bathroom, which seemed to be a shared market restroom. When I asked for water, I was given a dirty glass, and the tables were not clean either.

"മണ്ണിന്റെ രുചിയും മനസ്സിന്റെ സുഖവും ഒരുമിച്ചുള്ള കണ്ണൂരുകാരന്റെ തട്ടുകട!"☕️😋 We traveled for an hour and discovered this special spot, which stays open until midnight. We tried the chaya, egg puffs, special kada fry with porotta, and for sweets, the ladooo and gulab jamun. The kada fry was quite spicy but absolutely delicious, making us feel right at home. The entire experience brought us a homely feel that we didn’t miss home at all. However, the gulab jamun seemed frozen and pre-made, which was a slight letdown. Despite this, the visit was definitely worth it. The place has a naadan ambience that perfectly captures the essence of a thattukada.Highly recommended and the best out in GTA! One suggestion: playing Malayalam songs could enhance the atmosphere even more and make it the perfect spot for anyone looking for a taste of home.

It is the first time experience in Canada had such a worst, nasty place I found where the food serving to the guests without a lil bit of sense of hygiene.

We were the family of 5 including 7 year old boy visited over there, while we entered some tables are occupied, got served having food and smoking together - feels like cheap low class Indian toddy shop. We tried to order food that they were displayed on that days special got replied as those were unavailable and ordered home made chappathy, 2 beef masalas, squid roast, orange juice, lime juice and tea. The server girl said will take 10 minutes to warm it up in the mean time juices and tea will be served, we agreed “3 or 4 - 10minutes” were gone not get served, I approached counter to ask then they replied “its onthe way”. Then we got 2 beef masala without any - main course, water or glasses. Then I asked for juice for son they gave us mango juice realized that it was not ordered by us informed server girl she apologized and took it to the another table for serving with new straw without replacing the item. Then instead of squid roast chicken masala was served informed the server girl and returned of same serving procedure we saw that they served to the couple who was sitting other table, which as already eaten part of it by us. We got served reheated frozen chappathies - not the home made, also porotta was frozen one not properly warmed enough.

I got a chance to use their hand wash facility and saw that veggies and bags of opened potatoes were thrown on the dirty floor where you can find all other garbage were kept on the corner.

Totally pathetic environment, very much disappointed. I have seen lot of negative experience reviews shared about this restaurant, but owner or any of the responsible person haven’t replied to those. They know what they are doing over there.

I would like to invite food and health department’s ...

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disaster!!! We ordered a range of dishes like ghee roast, masala dosa, palappam with botti, thattu dosa, kada fry, egg omelette, and three teas. Out of all this, the only thing we managed to finish were the teas and we paid nearly 150 CAD for the experience. Ghee roast was drenched in ghee or may be oil, and we literally had to use tissues to wipe it down just to take a bite. Masala dosa had a filling so bland, it felt like it had no effort or emotion behind it much like the chef, who we later learned is also the owner. We complained multiple times to the staff, showed our plates, but the chef (owner) made no effort to even acknowledge us. Kada fry was swimming in what felt like a litre of oil, again tissues to the rescue! Botti was oddly sweet like dessert and we couldnt even take a second bite! Omelette was a complete insult to the chicken!!! I’m sure anyone could make a better one at home.

We were left shocked, disappointed, and frustrated not just with the food, but with the attitude of the person running the place. Despite our repeated feedback, the owner never even spoke a word to us. The only positive was the girl at the front counter who sincerely apologized, even though none of this was her fault.

I’m attaching a photo of all the uneaten food, so you don’t have to read this review to understand the...

As someone from India, I’m always on the lookout for authentic Indian food and, most importantly, a good cup of chai. One day on my way to work, I spotted this restaurant that immediately grabbed my attention. Its vibe resembled an authentic Indian chai tapri or snack joint, which made me curious. I saved its location, determined to try their chai sometime.

When the opportunity finally came, I suggested the place to my friends, excited to experience what I hoped would be a slice of home. The food and snacks on display looked inviting, but we decided to stick to just chai. We ordered three cups and waited about 30 minutes, which wasn’t a big deal as we were eager to try it. However, the moment we took our first sip, disappointment hit hard. All three of us exchanged looks of disbelief.

The chai tasted nothing like what I had expected. It was a letdown, especially given how much I was looking forward to it. To be fair, this might have been a one-off issue or a bad day, but based on that experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place for chai.

That said, the ambiance was nice, and the food on display looked promising. While I’m hesitant, I might give this place another shot for the...
