Katies Cakes — Restaurant in Toronto

I called today to order cupcakes for my son's birthday this weekend as i have done so for the past 3 years. Cupcakes is somehing my family have always had instead of cake beacuse its easy for someone to take home and to serve. I asked for 12 cupcakes and was told "im not turning on an oven for 12 cupcakes" the emoloyee then tried to sell me into buying a cake that will feed 20 people. 1. Why would i want a cake for 20 people when 12 cupcakes is all i need.2 . I thought about your response "im not turning the oven on for 12 cupcakes" Im going to explain why this response is wrong on so many levels. Restaurants have their equipment on and ready so when the doors open they are ready to make the guests food as opposed to waiting for someone to come in and THEN turn on the equipment. Also if your not ready to have business, not turning on your ovens at a bakery is a pretty good way go about that. But the worst part about your statement is the resounding "i dont want/ care for your business/money". At first I was just going to give a negative review to this place and then i saw other peoples reviews all with the same concerns. "Customer service". So i figure ill give some advice. Be kind to people who take the time to give your business a chance, make every order feel important and finally be thankful for customers who give you business. If you follow these easy steps i promise you youll be busy enough so that next time someone calls for "only 12 cupcakes" your ovens will be ready because your bakery is ready for business and will probably have more than 1 order a day......never...

I bought two cakes from here and one cake was $75 and the other was $120, the cake that was $120 was stale or made from a box, it was less flavourful and significantly smaller. I showed an image as to what I was looking for when I placed the order and obviously I was not expecting it to look just like the image, however when I picked the cake up it was completely differnt. I wanted a beige cake with cheetah print and pink bow on it, I received a bright yellow cake with what looked to be brown dots? When my partner who I purchased the cake for saw it on her birthday she was disappointed. Overall very over priced cakes for what you will actually receive. Definitely would not...

Ordered a cake for the first time here for my son’s baptism a couple of weeks ago. We received a recommendation from a friend who told us how all their cakes for events are purchased here and insisted we give Katie a try. I am very happy we listened to her! It was a pleasure speaking and working with Katie. She was very patient and accommodated my request even though it was fairly last minute. The cake turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined, and everyone mentioned how delicious it was! We chose the vanilla with strawberry jam filling. It was also very reasonably priced.
