We used to eat here every week and held most of our family get-togethers at this restaurant until our terrible experience last month.
We made a reservation on April 19 for 6 people, it was our family's early Easter dinner.
When I called to make the reservation, I was told they had a 2hr seating limit which is usually the standard for most restaurants and was also reminded of this the day of when they were seating us.
It was very busy that day and most of the items from our order were missing or very delayed. We spoke to the manager a few times about our missing orders. He said he'd check with the kitchen but never once apologized for the inconvenience. Shortly after, I asked if we could place a take out order but was told they'd do that at the end of our dinner.
Then, after an hour of being seated, the restaurant manager abruptly came to our table and loudly tells us we've gone over our seating limit and needed to leave. I advised him that we were told we had 2hrs and were almost done.
We just wanted to order take out. He told us we could order take out at the front entrance and that we needed to leave the table. I asked if we could have one bill with our dine in total and take out total but he rudely said to just pay the dine in bill and place the take out order at the front.
He was extremely loud and very unprofessional! People from the other tables were looking to see what the commotion was all about.
We paid the bill and went to the front to place our take out order. We were then told there'd be a 40min wait for the food. This was absolutely ridiculous considering we had told the manager many times during our dinner that we wanted to place a take out order for the whole purpose of avoiding having to wait for it.
The other person behind the bar clearly noticed how upset we were and asked what had happened. After explaining that we practically got kicked out of our table, he apologized and said it's probably because they were so busy. He included a free dessert with our take out order. When we finally got everything, there was no wasabi and ginger with our sushi. We didn't want to wait any longer so we never asked for it.
While waiting for our take out, I went to use their washroom downstairs. Two out of three of the women's washrooms were filthy and disgusting!! One was overflowing with feces while the other had feces stuck to the rim of the toilet!! I saw an employee down there and told him.
I can understand how stressful and busy a restaurant can be but routine checks of the washrooms should be mandatory!
Also, there are far nicer ways of communicating to people. The manager could've just said "I apologize but we have another group reservation coming in would you mind if we settled your bill now". This encounter was completely uncalled for especially since we were told twice that we had a 2hr seating window.
I have never been so appalled in my life! I used to recommend this restaurant to family and friends but now I tell them to stay far away unless they're looking for poor, rude service and a...

I had the pleasure of dining at Kung Fu Sushi for the first time, and I must say, it was an experience worth sharing. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's ambience is well-crafted, blending a modern aesthetic with traditional Japanese elements, creating a space that is both comfortable and visually appealing. We were a party of three, celebrating a friend's birthday, and the occasion made our visit even more special. The staff were extremely welcoming, and we were seated almost immediately at a lovely spot that offered a great view of the restaurant.
The service at Kung Fu Sushi stood out from the moment we were seated. The staff were attentive and courteous, making us feel genuinely valued as customers. Although our food did take a little longer to arrive than expected, the staff's friendly demeanour made the wait more bearable. It's worth noting that once the food started coming out, the pace picked up significantly, and our subsequent dishes were served promptly. This small hiccup did not detract from the overall experience, as the quality of the food more than made up for it.
When it comes to the sushi, Kung Fu Sushi did not disappoint. The freshness of the fish was immediately apparent, and the sushi was beautifully presented. Each piece was carefully crafted, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and commitment to quality. The flavours were well-balanced, and the fish had a delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture that is the hallmark of excellent sushi. It’s clear that Kung Fu Sushi places a strong emphasis on using high-quality ingredients, which really elevates the dining experience.
The dessert menu was another highlight of our visit. I opted for the mango sago, and it was absolutely delightful. The portion size was generous, and the dessert itself was a perfect blend of sweetness and tanginess. The pomelo added a refreshing texture that complemented the smoothness of the sago, making it a dessert I would highly recommend. My friend, whose birthday we were celebrating, was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bubble tea, which was a thoughtful touch from the restaurant. This gesture added a personal touch to the evening, making the celebration even more memorable.
Overall, my first experience at Kung Fu Sushi was exceptional. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and high-quality food made for a wonderful dining experience. While there was a slight delay in the arrival of our food, the delicious sushi and the restaurant’s friendly staff ensured that our evening was thoroughly enjoyable. Kung Fu Sushi has definitely earned a spot on my list of favourite sushi places, and I look forward to returning for another meal. If you're in the area and looking for a sushi spot that delivers on both taste and service, Kung Fu Sushi is definitely worth a visit.

Read moreAs I’ve mentioned in all my reviews before, my boyfriend and I love trying new restaurants, especially sushi spots. This time, we were excited to visit “Kung Fu Sushi & Bubble Tea” after seeing it on Instagram and hearing about their AYCE option.
Upon arrival, we noticed the restaurant was mostly empty, so we were happy to avoid any wait. However, as we entered, no one greeted us. There were staff members walking around right in front of us, yet no one acknowledged our presence. It was disappointing, as even if there’s a waitlist, most restaurants will at least greet you and let you know what's going on. But at this place, we were completely ignored.
I told my boyfriend I didn’t like the atmosphere and suggested we leave, but he convinced me to stay, so we did. We sat down and put our names on the waitlist, even though the restaurant was still mostly empty. After 20 minutes, no one interacted with us at all—no “hi,” no “we’ll be with you soon,” not even a simple update on the wait time. Staff kept walking by without a word.
At that point, my boyfriend said, “Let’s just leave; this isn’t worth it,” and I agreed. We don’t mind waiting, but to be completely ignored for 20 minutes with no communication or acknowledgment is not okay.
I’m leaving this review to express how disappointed I am with the lack of customer service. While I can't speak to the quality of the food since we never got a chance to try it, based on how we were treated, I won’t be returning. I’m not saying I wouldn’t recommend the place, but with such poor service, I won't bother coming...
