Wow, I am incredibly disappointed in the service I received from this location. I’ve been here a couple times prior to the visit I’m writing this review about but because of the events that took place, I will never return or give any of my business to this location.
I came into this location on Thursday, May 3, 2018 and I wanted the most simple sub a person can get. A vege sub with no cheese, just veges, sauce and toasted. The person serving me had a name-tag that read Jay” and she appeared to be a woman in her mid 40’s or older. She said her name was pronounced “Jai”.
When it was my turn to order I said “Hi how are you” and she said “yes?” (As in, what do you want). Very rude from the start. When I asked for the sub, I told her from the beginning I didn’t want cheese, I just wanted Veges. She asked if I wanted it toasted and I said Yes, but after I put the toppings.
Simple, right?
She said “I can’t toast your veges” I asked her why not She said “it wasn’t allowed.”
I asked jokingly, “will it cause a fire?” She said YES (can you believe that)
?????
I told her I’ve ordered the same sub at many locations just this past week and had it toasted before with veges and there was no fire so it’s safe. (I couldn’t believe I was explaining to a grown woman who works at a sandwich-making restaurant that putting spinach and black olives in an oven would not cause a fire). Seriously?
In response, she said “my manager said not to put certain veges in the oven”
I asked her why her manager would tell her that - especially because the ONLY thing Subway does is put toppings on subs. Literally nothing else.
She said “it’s not recommended”
I said, “ok so can I go with my own recommendation instead of your managers? Because I’m a paying customer and I like my subs the way I’m asking you to make it?”
She said “No I can’t do it, I have to listen to my Manager”
I said “yes ma’am, understood”
So she popped it in the oven and then made my sub and then I told her “please don’t cut the sub in half, if that’s allowed by the manager of course” She said, “yes that’s allowed by the manager” then she muttered “complicated”.
And I was just thinking her only job at Subway is to put toppings on subs, what is so complicated about that? If she finds her job complicated, perhaps she should reconsider her career.
Then I asked her what her name tag said and she told me, then all of a sudden she was joking and laughing and smiling.
In response to her, “complicated” remark, I said “your manager made things complicated with all these rules, maybe I should talk to them”
THEN SHE SAID, “I am the manager, talk to me”
CAN YOU BELIEVE!?
I hope an actual manager sees this and fires her immediately, that negative attitude is extremely inappropriate and unprofessional and her behaviours have single-handedly cost this...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews but I honestly don't know how else to let my feelings out right now. I am not one to really complain at all but when someone makes a mistake I don't really make a big deal about it but I do let them know so they can know for next time...I stopped in to this location the other night and I had a coupon for 2 can dine 6inch combos, I was picking up my little brother from work and I was already working for over 10 hours and my little bro just finished his shift at work too so we both were hungry and exhausted. We thought we would use the coupon to get a bite before we went home to go to bed. the person working said that we can use that coupon so we ordered our 6 inch subs and paid. The worker gave us our subs but did not give us our drink or option of a cookie or chips...I was a bit confuse but I didn't care much about the cookie or chip but we just wanted our drink as we were thirsty. the worker started helping the next customer so we patiently waited and then they came back to us and we asked about our drink and that it was supposed to come with one and the worker said no it wasn't....I said it even showed on the picture that it came with it. the writing said it too but I was too tired to carry it all on. the worker insisted that 1 6inch alone would normally be $11 or so without a coupon, and that they just put the picture of the drink to make it stand out more and to basically make the sandwich look better, the worker took my coupon when I ordered like they normally do but couldn't they just of looked at it again to make sure? I did not think to even say it because like I said we just wanted to eat and go and who knows sometimes when we are tired we read things wrong so maybe I was wrong....We both were already very tired so we just paid for 2 fountain drinks extra, ate and left. I had 1 more of the coupon paper with all the subway coupons at home aside from the ones I had one me because we got it in the mail and the lady next door gives me theirs because they do not go there....I looked at the same coupon that we used that night to make sure and I was right, it was supposed to come with 2 drinks and 2 cookies or chips. money is already tough enough with this economy and its already hard enough to get by so that's why I use coupons to help save a few bucks here and there when I can. I am not an angry person that often but this just kind of upset me and I just needed to say it somewhere where I could get it out and vent...
Read moreI AM APPALED AT THE CONDITIONS OF THE STORE. THE LABOUR BOARD SHOULD GET INVOLVED. The moment I walked into the store it was as if I walked into a sauna. Not only is the air conditioning out but the whole shop was baking hot. I am assuming because of the machinery that is used to toast and bake the bread and the ovens used to heat their food. The shop was a ghost town, and no one was eating inside and just as well because I wouldn't stay a moment longer in the 'restaurant' if I needed to. Restaurant implying that there was suitable conditions to sit down and eat - which there were none. The employees made the sandwiches amazingly, were nice, were gloved and took hygiene seriously, which is commendable in the blazing heat. After speaking to customers who frequent the place apparently the airconditioning is always off even in the summer. Unreal, inhumane conditions which is so appaling. I don't think anyone can imagine the amount of heat that was in that 'restaurant'. This is not only unsuitable, inhumane but may also pose to be greatly unhygenic due the heat in the store. This needs to be resolved as there are real people working in that restaurant and are not being treated with the same dignity many of us Canadians get. It is against human rights to be working in such an environment in 30° weather. When outside was colder than it was inside. I would not be suprised if anyone were to get heat stroke from working there. This needs to be changed and I will be escalating this...
