La Ciel was such a disaster from start to finish that I can’t stay quiet. If this place is calling itself “fine dining,” someone needs to revisit the definition because what we experienced was anything but that.
Towards the end of our meal, the waitress brought out dessert — but instead of clearing the table like any restaurant would, she placed the dessert down right in the middle of all our dirty plates. To make it worse, the dessert was dripping water which she spilled all over the table & on us as she dropped it. She didn’t offer to clean it up, didn’t come back to check in, and didn’t seem to care at all. Her only contribution was asking, “Do you want napkins?” as if it was our job to clean her mess.
The food was no better. After a long wait, we were served bland, flavorless dishes. The chicken was especially bad — seasoning was off, and just thrown on the plate without thought. It’s hard to believe any chef tasted what was going out of that kitchen.
As if the food and service weren’t enough, the overall environment was completely off-putting. The patio & dome smelled horrible … I don’t know if they clean it at all, but it was bad enough to make you question the hygiene of the entire place. Inside, it was chaotic and unprofessional. People were clearly drunk, roaming around, and it felt like most of the guests were friends of the staff. One of the waitresses was even seen making out with a customer in front of the bathroom. That’s not just uncomfortable it’s downright unhygienic.
When I brought all of this to the manager’s attention, I expected some kind of accountability. Instead, I got the classic brush-off: “Sorry, the waitress is new.” That’s it. No action, not even a proper apology. Just a dismissive attitude that made it clear they didn’t care.
We still paid the bill — even though we were treated like an inconvenience. The management didn’t step up, the service was beyond careless, and the food was overhyped and OVERPRICED.
I don’t know where these five-star reviews are coming from, but from our experience, they’re completely misleading.
Let’s be real: this restaurant isn’t about providing good food or good service. It’s about playing dress-up for Instagram and pretending mediocrity is luxury. They’re too busy catering to their drunk regulars and friend circle to care about actual paying guests.
Calling this “fine dining” is a JOKE.
So if you want to overpay for bland food, get ignored by management, watch your server hook up with guests, and breathe in the lovely scent of moldy patio air — La Ciel is your spot.
Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Even a frozen TV dinner would be a step up … at least it comes with instructions and...
Read moreI’ve been to La Ciel a few times, and each time has been an interesting experience.
This time, we were there to celebrate a birthday. We had already purchased some balloons and wanted to add them to the dome, but the restaurant informed us that we’d need to pay $100 for their decor package before we could bring in our own decorations. Even if we didn’t want their decor, they still required the $100 fee just to allow our own. It was a strange rule, but since we wanted to decorate the dome, we ended up paying it. While the decor they provided was decent, it definitely wasn’t worth the $100.
In the photo you can see the silver and pink balloons they added, with a very small neon sign that says HBD; the rose gold balloons in the middle are what we brought our self.
We ordered food, and the appetizers were generally good — except for the chicken tikka, which was dried out, lacked flavor, and seemed like it had been reheated from a few days earlier.
As we were celebrating, we ordered a few drinks, including four shots of vodka. We were shocked to find out they were $15 per shot — a bit absurd. Had I known, I would’ve just brought my own bottle of Ciroc for $50 rather than spending $60 for four shots. Most restaurants charge around $8 for vodka shots, so this felt like a rip-off.
Speaking of pricing, on each table they place bottles of water that are not complimentary — each likely charged at around $7. We asked for tap water instead, but the server kept insisting that the bottled water is what they usually serve. There were five of us, and we easily could’ve gone through four bottles, so it felt unreasonable to expect guests to spend nearly $30 just on water — especially when a perfectly fine and preferred alternative exists. Thankfully, our server did eventually bring us tap water, so we appreciated that.
Service overall was mediocre. We had to ask for the same things multiple times, which became frustrating. That said, the servers were still kind and respectful.
The shisha was good!
The ambiance is nice — the setup of the place is beautiful. However, something odd happened: the music was turned off because one guest requested it. It was strange that the restaurant prioritized one guest’s request over others who wanted the music to continue. It would be much better if each dome had its own speaker system to avoid situations like this.
Overall, I’d rate this experience a 6 out of 10. I wouldn’t recommend La Ciel for celebrating special occasions, as the pricing for everything is...
