8:39 PM I am so glad that I stumbled into this place. I am hoping to find more places like this. The authenticity spills out of this place. Right when I went in I knew that I was going into something good. It was very busy and there were many people in the three different stations in the Bakery. One station is for pizza types of food; another for pasta, chicken Parmesan and such; and the last station for desserts. I only went for the dessert for this visit because I was craving for their gelato and nothing else. Best decision I have ever made. Gelato: They have many different flavours for their gelato and each flavour is unique in their own ways. I had the pink grapefruit and lemon gelato (Medium for 5.60$ tax included), and it was wonderful. My friend had a scoop of coffee and a scoop of chocolate gelato, and the coffee was very rich. It was not like your typical coffee tasting ice cream or candy, it wasn't that sweet, but it was heavy with coffee; if you like your coffee black, you will love this flavour. Price: The price was fairly reasonable with the amount of scoops that we got. They give you about 1 and a half scoops for each flavour that you pick (I can only speak for medium though). Again, medium was $5.60. Lobster Tail: Love it. Light and crispy, the cream is very nice. Very addicting (as is everything else that is there). Pizza: Very big ($4.50) for one slice (technically two small slices). There are many different types of pizzas and each are the same price. You can have the choice of having two different types for each slice. The pizza is fairly thin other than the crust. The cheese is what replaces the taste and texture of the dough. Churro: Small and filled with caramel. Very addicting. Soft and light dough that is not dry, and very healthily filled with caramel. Tiramisu: I decided to go again on another day and tried the tiramisu. I enjoyed it, but it felt like I was tasting a cake instead of a tiramisu. Now a days it's hard to find tiramisu's with rum in it (like how it should be), so it's understandable that this didn't have it. But I was expecting for something else to replace that rum taste, maybe a shot of espresso (like how it should be); sadly, there wasn't any. The cream was rich and very smooth, not as light as your typical tiramisu. So, even though I did enjoy having it, it wasn't really a tiramisu, in my honest opinion. Cinnamon Roll: It was soft and the dough was really nice. I enjoyed eating it but it wasn't very cinnamon-y. It was good, but not the best, but I would get it again because it has that addicting texture and taste to it. Eclair: I'm not too big of a fan of Eclairs so eating it here didn't make me fall in love with it. It wasn't super dry, but it wasn't fresh, so texture wise, it wasn't light or soft. I wouldn't go here for the eclair, it tastes like any other eclair. Service: The customer service was a bit lacking. Don't get me wrong, they notice that you're there despite the busyness of the bakery, but it's as if you're a problem to them. But hey, their food is good. I would still keep coming despite their customer service. (Although it depends on which person serves you) Conclusion: I enjoy coming to this place. Even if it's not THE best place that I've ever been to in regards to food, I love the atmosphere and the vast amount of choices that they offer for you. I really do hope to find more bakeries, stores, restaurants, etc. that are like Lamanna's.

There was a hype, so I marked on my places of want to go and go I went... just picked up to go desserts and pizza Blonde lady was a little judgmental but all good I came with a friend and probably looked like we were not together she was surprised when we were🤣 nothing is labeled in case you need to know and hard to ask questions as they can't seem to hear (there's also barriers in place), and what they have will be seen as you walk the lineup Got a little to try skipped the pasta dishes as I didn't want to line up again (separate line for 3 separate sections) place is busy, busy! Line up is ok can get confusing if first time here so there's 3 different sections and line ups for each, they have some tables in middle of this U- turn to sit down if you like and people watch Got cannolis, cookies, and pizza, everything seems fresh, tasted fresh plus with this kind of traffic it would have to be. A little pricey, they also have Gelato, many options for baked goods; donuts, macaroons, cakes but didn't try it. Place is cutely decorated and atmosphere gave me a bit of excitement or maybe because I'm waiting for desserts? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 Washrooms are ok got confused as it's marked handicap and something else on other but when you gotta go they all same 🤣🤣🤣 December 29, 2022

OMG. The pick up is a pain! We ordered a few days ahead for the big slices and few other things. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was a line up outside. I waited for about 15 mins then one of the staff came out and yelled pick up is thru a different door. When I finally got inside, no one came over for about another 10 mins.(the girl at the door controlling the traffic was really rude to me, I called her several times, she was just trying to ignore me, then she realized she can't ignore me any longer she just said, someone will come to you. ) Finally one lady came by and asked me for my order number, came back with one big slice, I told her there are more stuff to my order, so she went back and grab another big slice, I told her again I still have more stuff on my order, then she grabbed one more item, and I told her AGAIN I have one more item. Finally I got all my order. So three tips: 1) if you ordered online, find the pick up door. 2) they don't answer their call, so don't bother phone them. 3) double check your order! P.s. the pizza taste good. But just good enough. Nothing to be amazed about. Probably not going to go back for the trouble.

The food here is delicious. If I could I would eat here daily. They have a large variety of fresh cakes and pastries. Too many to list. My personal favourite pastry is the Lobster Tail. A gigantic flaky, crunchy lobster tail shaped pastry filled completely with the most delicious cream filling and dusted with icing sugar Heaven in your mouth treat that might need to come with a warning that they might be addictive on them. They literally are filled to the brim with the cream. Not one bite without. Writing this makes me want to go order a dozen right now. They also have great pizza too. A large selection of pizza available and the slices are a big portion. As well, there is fresh lasagna which is delicious and the portion is massive for the price. The veal sandwiches are great too. They also have meatball ones and other fresh pastas which I have not tried but I imagine they too are delicious. I would say the only negative thing is that navigation for ordering here can be a bit confusing as there are 3 separate areas (Pizza, Hot Food & Pastry) and I found it a bit challenging to figure out where to place my order from the 3 different sections so they could be on one bill. An employee named Sal was kind enough to come and help me with everything. Perhaps he saw the look of complete confusion on my face. LOL. I did very much appreciate his help. For future reference he told me to place my order at the Pizza counter. Online ordering is also available for takeout options as well. This might be more practical for takeout customers as lines get long here and online takeout orders have a separate area for picking them up. All in all I definitely recommend this place for Italian food, sandwiches, pizza and desserts. I saw they had espresso and lattes, etc.. but I didn't order one... I imagine they too...

Date of Visit: November 25th, 2023

My wife and I had a rather mixed experience at Lamanna's Bakery in Scarborough while picking up a birthday cake and cupcakes for our son's 7th birthday. We placed our order three weeks in advance, requesting specific designs, and were assured by the staff that everything would be prepared as requested. The total cost was over $175.

We arrived at the bakery around 12pm, as suggested by the staff, but unfortunately, we had to wait for about 20 minutes before anyone attended to us. This delay was particularly stressful as we had a party to attend. After notifying a staff member about our long wait, he went to check and soon returned with the cake.

The cake itself was as ordered, but the issue arose with the cupcakes. Instead of the custom-designed cupcakes we paid for, we were given a random selection from their display. When we pointed out the mistake, the staff member, rather than acknowledging the error, tried to justify it by saying we arrived late. This response was quite frustrating as our punctuality should not affect the accuracy of our order.

Moreover, the situation escalated when the staff member raised his voice as we expressed our disappointment and urgency to leave for our son's birthday party.

Overall, while the cake met our expectations, the mix-up with the cupcakes and the staff's handling of the situation were disappointing. It was disheartening to experience such service, especially after planning and paying in advance for a...
