We chose Lob Toronto for a bachelor party and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! Tucked away in an alley off Broadview, this hidden gem requires a little descent downstairs, but what awaits is worth every step. The vibe is super chill with a spacious, casual seating area perfect for groups. The staff were super friendly and really added to our experience with their top-notch service. They’ve got a great selection of drinks and tasty food to keep the party going. The real highlight is the unique game they offer - a fun hybrid of lawn bowling and mini-putt, which was a blast for everyone. The place was buzzing with a lively crowd, from other party groups to couples on dates, making the atmosphere electric and inclusive. Whether you’re planning a party, a casual night out with friends, or even a laid-back date, Lob Toronto is a must-visit. Can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for a great time in Leslieville!

I actually had alot of fun! The place is fairly new but the whole dynamic of the place and the game actually gets you going. Its great for a group of people who wanna play. You can only play 4 at a time but it makes sense as there are nine courses to finish. The food is okay. Dont expect to have a fancy meal, the finger food is good. I checked the menu before hand so i ate before i went and only had apps and drinks when i got there so it was fine with me. As per drinks the prices are reasonable. But the main reason i am giving them 5 stars is because their hospitality. They went over and beyond to accommodate us and we were a group of like 20. The service was AMAZING and our server was great! On top of that, not sure if he was the manager or owner but even he went out it his way to make sure we all had a good time. Deff will go back!!

I hosted a company event at this place and it was fantastic. I loved the fact that you don't need to know how to play since their staff is prepared to give instructions about the game and the place is setup in a very easy straightforward way. I also like that you can play as much as you want and that you can carry your drinks with you while you play. The event planner Anna was super helpful with recommendations of food platters for the group, changing our reservation to accommodate last minute cancellation of some of our guests, and maintaining great communications at all times during the planning process. I highly recommend this place. It is fun, well maintained and offers great service.

The game was fun, had a mixed experience. Edit: no I Don't plan on coming back Chintzy 3.Bullshit PR reply

Front door guys were quick to check us in, described the games clearly

Sometimes they explain to to large groups of people, but block the walkways completely while doing so, I recommend that they could take charge of the situation better and move people out the way so we can all have a good time.

The patrons were the kinder ones, ironically, more on that.

Waitress was also Basically they were super awkward about outside food policy, to the point where the waitress was saying "normally we charge for that..." When we just got settled in. It's fine to warn me, some better ways to approach that situation is not to penalize someone for not knowing the first time

There are no visible signs for this It is a first time "offense" Maybe don't consider on a whim to charge me whatever you want to charge me.

Staff conflict resolution is really dodgy

They also seem to be trained to be really pushy about ordering food as the same person came by our table like 3 times as we were waiting for our friend who is stuck in traffic to start playing the game

What you pay for with admission: The table policy for 2 hours + lob for infinite time is a good set up as it lets you have fun

The person who told me about the 2 hour policy didn't really enforce it though or kindly have us pay our bills when the limit hit, maybe it wasn't that busy to kick us off the table

Water was refilled proactively by another guy when we were seated so there seems to be a team effort in service

We're getting ready to leave, so while people use the bathroom I asked the waitress for a fork. Maybe 5-10 mins pass and we go, I leave the fork on the table we sat at. Then as we were leaving I was followed out the venue and accused of stealing a fork It's like 0 degrees outside and the supervisor goes: "Excuse me!!! fork please"

It's like there were laser eyes on me or something??

I literally offered to walk myself downstairs show the person where I left it, as if I'm the one offering them proof. Meanwhile everyone I brought to this place is awkwardly waiting outside.

So they say they'll come back and confirm with me after they check our table. But I waited 5 long mins before I decided they didn't even bother, if they located it, to apologize for accusing me a stealing. In the end they didn't even seem to believe me. There was a massive crowd of people rolling in to spend their money so they must have gotten distracted.

Anyway the staff seem really inconsistent but it's clear to me we're walking $$ and they act like rent is due tomorrow(it was November 2nd)

Next time I want to feel like a kleptomaniac I know where I'm going

I'll go to a climbing gym next time, maybe this business can learn from there, as the staff are usually trained to Not harass their customers like walking $ Change up the game so you actually want to come back and spend your $

I do like a good gimmicky game. If I came back, I hope the staff at lob Toronto don't remember me

It was good memories with friends, as they wanted to change things up. The signage/setup of the business seems set up for good humour etc.

The waitress whom I did get their name because she was so present-focussed, reasonable, and thoughtful, was Moona(Muna). If there is anyone who should be in charge of training for customer service, maybe it could be her. I asked her in advance if I can store my ice cream in the freezer as I explained this is a birthday dessert. She mentioned there isn't that much room, but my item was small so it was perfect and she helped me She wasn't mainly waiting our table so, I can't comment on that

P.s. their phone line if they pick up the wrong phone it sounds absolutely terrible (massive crackling noises) and they need to look into fixing that as that made booking frustrating for them and me. When I call anyone else they do not have this issue.

Please work on navigating conflict respectfully with your patrons

Anyway fork/10 awkward birthday party...

This place has the potential to get a better review but there are some kinks that need to be worked out to get there. I'll be straight and tell you this review is a long rant because I'm cheesed. If you want to summary, check the last paragraph.

I'll start with some good things.

We went there for a friend's birthday because she wanted to try the place out. The game you can play there (for a fee of $15) is a mix of 9 hole mini putt and bocce. I have to admit it is a good idea. However, the game gets boring after two rounds and it feels like it would be hard to sustain interest past that. The ambience was like any other food and games place. I'll give two star for game creativity.

Next the food. I have to say this was the best part of this place. The food was better than I expected to my surprise. It was better than your average bar food, and maybe that's why I was surprised because that was what I was expecting. I tried the salmon sandwich and the flank steak, and the only problem was the salmon was a bit dry. I'll give them two stars for the food, making it 4 stars on aggregate at this point.

Lastly the service and this is where they messed up and lost all their stars.

  1. they forgot our appetizers because they didn't put in the order. We ordered the appetizers with our entrees but all our entrees made it...so no idea what happened there.
  2. we finished our meals and proceeded to play the game but they took away our table. We had to carry our drinks around while playing. The interesting thing was there wasn't a line of people waiting for a table.
  3. they were explaining the game to us. As mentioned above, the game is a mix of mini putt and bocce. There were two marked points where one can throw from, one close and one further back. I wanted clarification on the rule and asked whether it's the "ladies tee". The girl explaining the rule looked at me with a dead serious face and said that's sexist. The other guy that worked there said it's the 21st century. I said it's from golf and both of them looked at me like I'm being crazy and sexiest (with the girl giving me the stink eye). Seriously guys, if your setting up a game that resembles golf with two points that one can start from, that's what people will think. The fact that you took an idea from golf but not even know about it is criminal. I really think the girl explaining the game lived in some sort of bubble...please come out and learn golf.
  4. the bills at the end before we left. I covered the meal for the birthday girl and left. Shortly after I receive a text from her saying the server said she hasn't pay yet. As it turns out, we covered for another person that "had the exact same thing". The waitress that settled up said there was a mess up in the system. My guess is it's human error caused by a bad system. Since they took away our table they had no good way of tracking who had what. I understand you want more business, but kicking people out of tables is almost asking for trouble. There is a solution where you can still take away tables but I'll let you guys sit on it because I didn't appreciate stink eye from your staff. At the end, they let my friend go (rightfully so) because we sent them a copy of the bill, and someone else ran out without paying basically. Good luck running a business model like this. Hope no one mortgaged their property to start this business...if they only had decent service they would have received 4 stars.

If you've read up to this far, I'm impressed. Overall, if you want to go in for food/drinks only then it should be ok. If you're playing their game, don't expect to much of it. If you're doing both and expecting adequate service, maybe try a golf course. At least you won't get a stink eye unless you're wearing jeans. Needless to say, I will...

I do want to give this place 5 stars as it's a fun game, easy and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks are fine like any place like this. However, when a place doesn't do separate bills and puts the ownest on the customer to sorted all out. That is just horrible customer service when they are able to, it's just lazy and I will not order anythingand neither will most people in the group (who want to deal with that headache). As the food is nothing to get excited for. I get it takes more time on the server, but people should not need to E-transfer each other or give cash, find the correct change and spend an extra 30mins figure all out all out when you have a system that can do it. Also, if a group walks in, let them pay separately especially if it's not busy. It's just very lazy and there is no reason for it. No matter what you may think. You either provide good customer service or you don't. This isn't the 90's.

I will not be removing this review. As you can tell from the start of the review I said why I was going to give 1 star and customers can make their own choice. When you start doing separate bills I will be changing my review to five stars. Until than, this is staying up. Also, at no point on your main page do you say you don't do separate bills becausei know how to read a website and click buttos AND if it was CLEAR I would have told my group to A) bring money and B) send an E-transfer to me. Do you need me to take a screenshot and post here to show you it's not on your main page?

Are you hiding the fact that people don't like separate bills? Is this done to not turn people off and not want to come to your venue as people don't like to have to do there own bill and pay an 18% gratuity because they're in group? That is your job. You know that people don't like that and that is one of the reasons why you getting 1 star. Do something about it, your not a 5 Star bougie restaurant. If you don't want a 1 star review do separate bills. I sad nothing that is...
