Wow I’m blown away!!! Will be dreaming of the pimento cheese for a LONG time. I am very rarely blown away by food but this spot did it!
It’s a cute place, note they don’t do takeout on weekends. I decided to sit at an open spot at the bar instead, with other solo diners.
The pimento cheese was just so spectacular - sharp cheeses and full of flavor!!! It was punchy and not too spicy at all. I wish I could get their recipe, or that they did delivery! Beyond this, the bread was deliciously toasted on each side, buttery and so high quality - you could tell it’s freshly made bread. I was wondering whether they source it from a bakery like Broadflour, Blackbird, or Dear Grain… turns out they bake it themselves, even better!! The only thing I didn’t love was the pickled veg - a little too “hard” for my taste. Also somehow too… sour? I guess I’m used to beet pickles being a little sweeter. That said, the dish was SPECTACULAR without them and needed nothing.
The sweet potato salad was also delicious!! Not what I was expecting, it was a mashed texture but again so flavorful without being overpowering.
I also tried their hashbrown, again not what I expected but yummy. It was more like rosti potatoes and was topped with a TON of mayo that had a slight seaweed/furikake taste almost? Never thought I’d say this, but it was maybe too much mayo as it was almost as much mayo as potato. I was craving a more classic crispy hashbrown, but this was also yummy with crisp on the outside and soft stringy potatoes on the inside. I would still recommend, with mayo mayo on the side.
Coffee was good though I wish they had more lattes/espresso or even a chai latte. That said, they had a wonderful selection of beers if coming for lunch or dinner, including sours both alcoholic and non alcoholic.
I cannot WAIT to come back and try more of their menu!! Especially their famous donuts. They have a good amount of vegetarian options that also aren’t egg-focused (if you’re ok with mayo/cheese) - perfect for me. I’m not used to so much choice at a brunch spot! Interesting salads, toasts, of course pancakes and sweets.
It was fairly priced too especially for the quality. This food lasted 2 full meals and was around $35 pre-tip.
It’s a cute little place, very tiny so be prepared to wait. Staff was all very friendly and nice....

We tried to have breakfast here several times over the weekend and the wait was always 3-4 hours. This gives the impression that the diner is really very cool, so we decided to go for it anyway Because we live close to the place. So signed up on the waitlist and waited more than 3.5 hours to get an absolutely mediocre breakfast.
Yes, the omelette scramble was good. But this is an ordinary omelette.. an ordinary omelette, if they ruined it, it would be really sad. The hash brown was ok, fresh, airy, but too peppery and lacking in other spices. A lot of pepper, but little salt and everything else. The sausage was tasty, just normal. For example the Laurens market in Dnister MUCH tastier baked sausage, without waiting if anything. Mushrooms and toast are mediocre. I also tried a few pieces of the turkey sandwich. It was ok, very tasty fruit gravy. I usually don't like gravy, but this one was fresh, interesting and berry-rich, and go well with the flavor of the turkey. French toast is mediocre.
In general, the interior is very dated and looks neglected. Maybe it's a vibe and that's ok, but when you're waiting for so much and you expect something more pleasant. There are no coat hooks for people sitting at the bar. This is very inconvenient! it turns out you're sitting at the bar with huge jackets on your lap and can't relax to eat.
Our waitress at the bar was incredibly friendly and sweet. helped us choose what to eat, was polite, the cook who brought us food was also nice and polite and pleasant. But the person who met us at the entrance was frankly not very friendly and there was no feeling that they were happy to see us.
In total, we paid about $80 for a mediocre breakfast with a mediocre atmosphere. I think it's not worth it... … Or maybe it’s exactly what...
Read moreI'm sad to say me and my friends did not have a good experience here. I was excited because I saw all the good reviews and wanted to add another cute brunch spot to my roster but the entire experience was unfortunately not it.
Food: The food was just regular. Not sure how else to describe it. Not outstanding in flavour, or presentation which was unfortunate considering the price point. I had the summer toast and the pickled zucchini was unexpected. The breakfast beer was good though.
Service: Our server was quite absent. As someone who also works as a server (hate to be that girl) I was disappointed. We had to grab our own water jug from the serving station and we said we'd order food first because we needed more time for drinks but he never came back to our table to get our drinks so I had to go up and place an order with him. He was just on his phone which okay I get it was slow but we're your only table! They ran out of ginger beer (sad) but it wasn't communicated upfront which would've been nice. Then when we went to pay he made a mistake in punching in our final bills and I ended up paying for my friend even though I handed him my bill. He fixed it but it was just a frustrating situation on top of everything else.
Atmosphere: Overall the atmosphere was sad and lacking hospitality. The washrooms were sort of clean. Food was edible but to add insult to injury I ended up getting food poisoning that night (yikes). The price was not worth it and we would've appreciated more attentiveness from our server.
I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it was an off day but seeing other people's pictures of the food alone makes me think otherwise. I'm sad to rate this place as low as I have. I hope this...
