We visited Mannat after going to the Do West Fest, and we’re so glad we did.
The vibe inside is calm, cool, and feels like a little oasis tucked away from the busy world outside. If you can, grab a seat by the window, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the nostalgic, laid-back Toronto charm.
The service was excellent. Both the server and the chef were friendly, professional, and respectful of our space and time. They gave great recommendations, and we went with the Butter Chicken with rice combo, Chicken Hakka Noodles, Garlic Naan and the Mixed Appetizer Platter.
The stars of the meal were, hands down, the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, and salmon. The butter chicken was the best we’ve had, incredibly flavourful, juicy on the inside, perfectly tender (not mushy!), and loaded with deep, satisfying flavour. Same goes for the tandoori and the garlic naan.
We also loved the Mango Lassi, not too sweet, perfectly blended. On top of that, we were treated to 2 small watermelon juices with herbs, a refreshing, slightly spicy touch that prepped us before the main dishes. We really appreciated the gesture.
One extra bonus? There was no lingering food smell after our meal! We’ve been to many restaurants, Canadian, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Italian, etc. and often leave with food scents clinging to us. But Mannat’s ventilation works so well, we didn’t notice a thing while driving home. Big win!
All in all, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be back whenever we’re in the...

As part of their opening as a new business at College and Ossington, the Chef is laying out a 6 course Chef's Special for 2, consisting of 3 entrees, 2 appetizers and bread, plus rice, showcasing his superb craftsmanship at a very good price (I suspect this won't last long).
My friend and I started with a Hakka inspired appetizer, Lasooni Cauliflower, which delivers sesame infused Chinese flavours, along with delicate, beautifully spiced Samosas served with a piquant red sauce on the side - to add a soupçon (hint) of heat. We then used a flavourful Chicken Biryani as the foundation of the plate of entrees, accompanied by a complexly layered, rich, Beef Masala, and a divine, lush green Palak Paneer (best I've ever eaten). To dip it up, they served wonderful Buttered Naan, alternatively crisp and tender, drizzled with once again, a complex mix of spices, including garlic.
This is a restaurant not to be missed by lovers of...

They have heaps of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. They are llbo but don't expect much in the cocktails section. They have introduced new summer drinks of which the watermelon juice which we got to try was quite refreshing.
We stuck to seafood options, all of them I must say were well cooked, fresh and low-level spicy by default. The chilli fish dry was a great starter. It was followed by Mannat seafood curry which had a mix of scallops, fish and mussels in delicious coconut sauce. Just the right accompaniment to our butter naans and crisp pudina laccha paranthas. Would say that the butter tandoor naans were made right before our eyes and they were melt-in-your-mouth light. You would not get the heaviness feeling you get by eating naans at other Indian places. Don't forget to try their gulab jamun - one of the best in this part of the town.
Ambience is nice but not over the top, take a table by the window if you are over for dinner at night to see Toronto running by. Riya was an attentive server and the service was on point. Cheers to KP...
