I gave this store 5 stars before 5 months ago, but the recent visit has disappointed me. I was hoping that they could keep up the good quality of the food despite the long wait time and average service, but it has been declining.
Tonight, I ordered Fried chiken and Korean Bbq Beef Rice With Solar Egg to try. Tbh, they are both very disappointing 😞. I used to love their fried chicken, but the fried chicken they gave me tonight was horrible!!! It's like they gave me someone else's leftover that has been at least one day old, and the texture was like I was chewing on a cardboard... it's mostly dough & crumble, very little meats.
As for the Korean Bbq Beef Rice With Solar Egg. There's nothing Korean about it... it is basically a terrible version of pepper beef dishes. The beef was super tough and hard to chew.
I might come at the wrong time because the chef/owner and the cashier were having dinner, I guess that's why the chef didn't care about the quality of the food that he gave me. For what it is, it’s definitely expensive. You can get something more substantial elsewhere for the same price. That said, the flavor was still quite good.
I decided to give this place another chance and ordered the spicy sour noodles plus a side of kimchi, which came to $25. The noodles were way too much—easily enough for two to three people—and the minced meat portion was tiny. It feels unnecessary to inflate the portion with extra carbs just to justify the price. For $15 at Bao House, you can get a braised beef noodle soup loaded with beef chunks, so I don’t think I’ll be coming back again.
The service is rlly...
