I believe in supporting local, but the customer service I experienced here today was appalling. I bought a large eggplant and discovered it was rotten in the core after cutting into it when I got home 30min later. Since I live right around the corner, I returned to Massellis with the rotten eggplant and receipt for an exchange. I showed the elderly lady at cash (who was the same person who helped me earlier) and she gave me a look and then shrugged. I was caught off guard by that reaction, so I proceeded to ask if I could exchange the eggplant for a new one. She shrugged again and said “ok go.” I went to the produce section and since there were no large sized eggplants left, I grabbed 3 small ones which added up to roughly equivalent size as mine, and took it back to the same woman to ask if this was ok as a replacement. She gave me a look and told me those were more expensive. I was confused as they were from the exact same bin as the other eggplant. I explained to her that there were no large eggplants left and then she brushed me off and said “ok leave.” I left the store feeling like I did something wrong, and I can no longer recommend this supermarket because of the way I was...

It’s a small family owned grocery store with great prices. I can get what I need in one go. I moved to the area about a year ago and didn’t come to shop here until about a month and a half ago; I tend to get home around the same time they close. Huge selection of pastas, fresh veggies, great preserves selection, love the olive oils they carry, large selection of deli meats and cheeses, great bread and biscuit assortment. Good one stop shop for good quality necessities and different things you might want to try.
The thing that sold me on this place is that I’ve searched all over the city for my favourite coffee and discovered I’d have to go to Nosso Talhno to pick it up. When I came here a month and a half ago, I found out they carry all the different varieties of the brand I love, so it’s now become my first choice in starting to shop for groceries. Love the fresh veggies!
This place is also the cheapest I’ve been able to shop at for...
