Terrible customer service from drive-thru staff today (Wednesday, 14 Aug. 2024 at 6pm).
I usually go in the morning and order through the app for pickup, and my experience has been great! The morning staff are always friendly, and my order is always served quickly!
However, we went and had a drive-thru today at 6 p.m., and the service was disappointing. We ordered a vanilla cone, 6 pc. nuggets and medium fries. The lady who took our order was not personable at all and seemed to be having a bad day; she didn't even make eye contact to acknowledge us and only mentioned the vanilla cone to verify our order. I get it. I've worked in fast food as well, and it can feel like a chore to be "nice" and maintain the customer service voice. Some days are tougher than others, and maybe she was having a bad day or maybe they were busy with dine-in or something, so we let it go.
We got to the second window to receive our order and the lady seemed to be pissed off when my dad requested for a cup for the vanilla cone. She handed us the rest of our order, but the medium fries were missing, so we asked where they were and gave the bag back. She asked her coworker(s) for medium fries (in a rude tone, too). No apology, barely any eye contact (until my dad confronted her), and just a rude demeanour overall. My dad asked what was up and why they both looked and sounded pissed off. She said, "Nothing's wrong. Maybe something's wrong with you." My dad is a nice guy and very rarely confrontational, but he will speak up when disrespected, especially when it's uncalled for.
I don't want a refund, nor do I expect high-end customer service. But a customer should not have to ask for the bare minimum. I couldn't care less if items were missing - those things happen! But at the very least, treat your customers with respect....

I ordered using the Mc Donald’s app and he does not know how that works because he told me that they just received orders from Uber , I get out of the drive thru because was many cars behind me and maybe I was wrong , I checked and everything was fine on my order , so I entered again on the drive thru, I repeated him the situation and he told me that my order is wrong because I order lunch ( it is impossible to order lunch at that time ) , I repeated everything again and he mentioned that he was not checking the order that I told him and when he checked he mentioned to me that he cannot give me my order because I did not pay ( the charged the order on my credit card and I would not have the code unless I paid under the app ) I repeated everything again to see if he understands and after that told me that he cannot give me my order because it is not under my name. Of course, this took us a long time and was too many cars behind us because he does not know listening and was lazy to see my order from the beginning , so I got out of the drive thru again, I knock the front door because I needed my order and a nice lady told me that it was ready long time ago. The guy from the drive thru took the order and call my name ( the ticket had my name and the code that I told him ) and when I asked him why he did not give me my order from the beginning, he just ignored me and asked me if I want my ice coffee with the rest of my order jajaja this guy should not be working on customer service.
They need to hire people with good English and provide them a good training about their...
Read moreToday (June 3), we went to McDonald’s located at 6170 Bathurst street at around 5:40pm. We have preordered thru McDonald’s app at 4:40ish. When we got there at the drive thru to pick up the order (EL61), the employees were not able to locate the order. It took them 5 minutes to tell us at drive thru that order was not found. We went to the window, same thing. They said order was not found and asked us that we are not at the right restaurant. But app showed that we arrived and we checked in automatically when we went to the drive thru. In any case, I had to go in, cancel my previously ordered food, and wait another 10 minutes for my new order to be completed. First the till was not working. There were like 10+ employees walking around. My order was placed over the phone (app) while I was waiting and I waited roughly 10 minutes to get my order. My second order was completed at 6:06pm- as per receipt. Everyone who ordered after me was getting their orders first. I seriously don’t know why this happens all the time. I just ordered my food and left at 6:15pm. My husband got furious with 2 toddlers in the car, crying and screaming, he went inside the restaurant to bring up the issue with the manager. My husband asked for his name, and manager just walked away and scrambled his name on the back of the receipt. We couldn’t even tell the name. Manager was not trained well, and his staff were obviously not knowledgeable. It was just a bad experience. We are not happy at all and this will hinder us from going to McDonald’s.
