Milky's — Restaurant in Toronto

Thanks to a bakery x coffee shop partnership between Gateau Ghost x Milly's Coffee, I got to hit two birds with one visit! The Milky storefront at Dundas and Bathurst is tiny but super aesthetic with lots of decorative ceramics and cute niknaks to browse and purchase. Not to mention, service was top-notch. I ordered a couple items to try:

HOT CHOCOLATE: Though milkier than I'd prefer, the chocolate notes still came through rather nicely. I enjoyed that it was a semi-sweet beverage and made at the perfect temperature for this cold winter weather. I got it with just regular milk and it was smooth to drink. Overall, not too special so I'll give it a 4.0 out of 5.0 stars.

OREO COOKIE: I was very happy to have found an Oreo cookie that isn't paired with cream cheese! Yet, there's big enough cookie chunks for you to taste that flavor profile, coming through nicely, without an overload of sugar. It was chewy, the way I like my cookies and overall, probably the best Oreo cookie I've had (4.9 out of 5.0 stars)

BROWN BUTTER RICE KRISPY COOKIE: A unique flavor profile that caught my attention when I heard the name. Same as the Oreo, the chewy consistency was perfect. As you approach more of the center of the cookie, you also get those rice krispy bits which weren't the crunchiest but added an interesting texture to it. This one definitely had a more sweet n' salty balance which was a nice touch. All in all, a very flavorful cookie that I really enjoyed (4.9 out of 5.0 stars).

Though my drink was a little underwhelming, I'll be visiting again when I get the chance as they do have some more unique offerings that I'd be interesting to...

Edit 07/28/24 Unfortunately could not purchase a drink here this morning because employee Anya decided her personal ego projections were more important than doing the job she is paid to be doing literally in that instant. This shop in my experience has a kind king and queen (you know who you are and our interactions speak for themselves) as well as Anya and one other female whom I wouldn't accept money from to interact with in my professional capacity. Happy to clarify with management directly through my email contact and I will not be visiting the store or recommending it to others until this issue is addressed ty.

This and the Stackt location are two of the most charming, cool and tasty coffee shops in the city. Team members are chill and great for making drink suggestions. Watch out for those Dinos trying to dRIP your...

First Impression: Beautifully designed space with some unique drink options.

Favourite: The iced green tiger with whole milk. This drink was a hit with my sister, husband and I- FYI we are hard to please lol.

Critiques: The space is beautiful but very small. You may not feel comfortable to sit inside but in the summer they have a nice patio which is a plus.

Bonus: Unique flavours you will not find anywhere else! Also the staff is very friendly. My husband and I asked if we can take photos and videos for the review and they did not mind. They were really happy we asked as they found others do not and have posted photos of them on social media without their permission. So if you want to take pictures please ask because the staff will truly appreciate it.

Take Away: This is one of my go to places for a good coffee or matcha in the city. It would be lovely if they opened up more locations!
