Montauk Bar — Restaurant in Toronto

We had an extremely poor experience and felt discriminated against for no reason. Me and a couple of buddies went for drinks. When we got there, the place was pretty much empty. We saw a high table and sat at it - bartender said the table is for 4 and asked to sit at a regular table since he said the place will fill up pretty quickly. We saw a high table for 2 and asked to sit there instead since we preferred a high table - bartender said table is for 2, started laughing and then had a shot. We sat at the regular table thinking maybe the place really does fill up. 5 minutes later 3 people walk in and sit at the exact same high table we asked to sit on - bartender said… you guessed it, NOTHING. In the middle the sever comes to us and asks us if we want more drinks and we say we’re still thinking and he goes “yeah no worries just checking, nothing feels worse than wanting something really bad and not being able to have it”. I’m in search of top of the tops cocktail bar and I’m happy I’ve visited Montauk bar. It is cozy inside, very intimate feels, and perfect for a date or catching up with a friend. Niko and the other gentleman were very pleasant to chat with. I had the chance to try the Meet Cutie drink (my fave so far!) and the House Plant (this reminds me of Seth Rogan lol). Was there on a Sunday for the oyster and bottle special. Not only were the oysters good, but the horseradish was actually fresh, not that dried horsehair you get at other places. That's the attention to detail you'll get at Montauk. It is about quality and service. The music, atmosphere, and not only what they serve, but how they serve it has been well thought out.
