UPDATED, PLEASE READ FURTHER: Coming from someone with 5 years of professional barista experience, moonbean never disappoints. I've been going to moonbean for years, even since before I lived in Toronto when I was a kid and its come a long way. They have great service even when I'm being a nightmare customer on my phone. They're coffee is always fantastic and even got my coffee hating girlfriend to start drinking coffee. If you're ever in Kensington moonbean is a must. UPDATE: Over the last few months my little family and I have gone from loving this beautiful cafe to getting anxiety at the thought of going in for coffee beans. The owner seems to stare us down and give us attitude no matter what we do. We try our best to be respectful and admittedly we had weighed out beans by using a scoop when that apparently that wasn't how it is done. Even after correcting our mistake, we know we are very much so not welcomed here. The staff is usual fine and is great with our two year old son, unless the owner is around. We noticed that the staff is far more tense and short when he is around but not when the owners wife is. The quality and pricing is still great, but not worth the 45 minute walk and rude treatment we get anymore. As much as it breaks my heart to say we no longer support the coffee shop that I've been going to since I was small, the green beanery and quantum coffee is comparable, more accessible and far more...

Was pretty disappointed with my experience. It was my first time here and I was killing some time while my husband ran the lululemon 10k. I needed to get some work done so I was pretty much picking a cafe based on if they had wifi. I found the customer service was pretty terrible. It seemed like the barista was annoyed at me from the moment I walked in. It was 7:30am on a Sat morning with no line behind me but she was rushing my breakfast order. Considering it was my first time, I was not purposefully taking a little longer--I was just hoping to browse the menu. I took about 3 min browsing. I asked before ordering if the cafe had wifi and the response from both baristas was that there was. After ordering and sitting down, I asked what the wifi password was and the barista responded with, "we don't have wifi on weekends, just week days."

My first question before ordering was, is there wifi here! It would have been nice to be forewarned that they did not provide it on the weekends. The customer experience affected my overall experience so it's hard to comment on the coffee and food. I would have appreciated an offer for the croissant to be heated. Otherwise, coffee...

I’ve been to Moonbean on and off over the years, and my opinion was always that the place was ok. Today, that opinion has changed.

I was there to buy a bag of whole bean coffee to take home. I picked up a pre-packaged bag of Nicaraguan beans from their self-serve area. It happened to be their last bag, and the big self-serve container of the same beans was empty. I assumed that particular roast was popular.

I got to the counter, and the person at the register told they couldn’t sell me that particular bag of coffee. When I asked why, they told me it was ā€œfor somebody elseā€. The bag was not set aside from the rest of their products, nor was there any note/receipt on it to indicate it was another person’s order.

I argued back and forth until another staff stepped in and reiterated that I was not allowed to buy that bag of coffee, and could I please put it back where I found it. No apology, no suggestion of an alternative…nothing.

This is BAD service, full stop. How dare you offer something for sale, then take it away when you decide you’d rather sell it to somebody else. I will never go...

Ahh, this cozy coffee shop is a fav of mine šŸ˜ I've been here twice and I enjoyed both visits! If you buy a coffee to drink at the shop, they give you a nice big mug šŸ˜„ Maybe I'm just slow at drinking coffee, but for a medium, it lasted me for quite a long time -- I think I stayed there with my friend for about 45 minutes? Maybe longer? (I'm sorry for hogging a table for so long šŸ˜…) I only finished my drink when we were about to leave. The little wooden tables give the place a warm and...hmmm...classic/old school atmosphere. The tables far apart enough so that you won't feel too crowded, but they're small, so you'll be sitting pretty close to your friends. You have the option of sitting outside of the store, by the front windows, in the large area inside the store, or in the back patio. There's more space than I expected. The owners/workers are really nice, and I love the pattern one of them made with whipped cream for my caramel latte. I went on Sunday around 3 or 4pm. I had a 10-minute wait for my order, which isn't so bad considering how crowded and busy they were.

Cozy, rustic Kensington cafe with a large variety of tea leaves and coffee beans, and pastries for sale Lots of seating in the back, and a small patio area in the front and back. They have decaf versions of most of their teas and coffees, I got the decaf earl grey and the spinach pastry to share. Service is friendly, and they were pretty fast even though it was pretty busy. Will be back!

So many amazing things to say about this place! Everything is perfect; the cafe, the coffee, service, food and overall atmosphere. Prices are also very reasonable and you can tell that they brew quality coffee. They also make their ice cubes out of coffee which is my absolute favourite because the coffee doesn’t ever get watered down. Truly a coffee shop that prioritizes your experience there! Staff are very friendly and service is super quick. My go to is an iced oat latte! Smoothest espresso and goes perfectly with the oat milk. I also really enjoyed the vegan banana loaf; sipping my latte alongside the loaf was just magic!!! Thank you for being one the best (or in fact the best) coffee shops I’ve ever been to!
