One of the best places for produce in the area.
I’ve been shopping here for over 5 years and they’ve consistently kept their prices reasonable, as Loblaws and other big chain grocers have increased theirs tenfold.
On top of actually affordable produce and groceries, everything is always fresh. Their seasonal selection is great too. Sometimes I don’t even know what I need for the week and their selection is so good I can plan my week on the fly.
Also, don’t disregard their front of the counter offers. Always have fresh berries, herbs, a good selection of olive oils, canned fish, pine nuts and saffron.
The owners are also extremely friendly and welcoming.

Read moreThis market has the vibe of a place that sources their food locally, but in reality their fruits and veggies are considerably less fresh than what you can get at your regular franchise grocery store like Freshco or Loblaws. The papaya never ripens properly, the broccoli looks less green and more gross, etc. I’ve given this place a chance a few times so my observations do not come from visiting once, but over a few times.

I also appreciate certain ingredients they stock (basically every vegetable) and ways of buying certain produce that they have (eg a few fresh bay leaves or red chilis in small bags, rather than a bunch that I won’t use up and will go bad).
