Just want to give a very truthful review for anyone considering going here for the first time. First time here with my boyfriend and friends and we were very UPSET by the very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE not just from the restaurant but also from the female server “YUJIN.” My boyfriend and I felt VERY UNIMPORTANT AND NEGLECTED AS CUSTOMERS.
MAJOR ISSUES OF THIS RESTAURANT:
2)SLOW RESPONSE TIMES! Us and two of our friends had to wait for OVER 30 minutes for our order to come while the rest of our other friends had already received their food and were almost done eating. It’s frustrating that we had to wait that long when they should send the orders ALL AT ONCE and we even had to ask them THREE TIMES to confirm if our food was going to come.
When we received the bill, I expressed to “YUJIN” how upset I was at the customer service that she provided on our first time here. She did not apologize to us at all even though we were very upset AND she even said “maybe you should order kimchi fried rice next time.”
We were very excited trying this place out but the poor customer service and LACK OF EMPATHY clearly shows why this restaurant gets NO CUSTOMERS. I understand everyone has off days, but the issues of slow response times, unprofessional demenor and poor knowledge of the menu needs to be addressed to the owner or management.
HOW TO IMPROVE: Despite our disappointment with the customer service, I would like to acknowledge that the food was not too bad. However, it is essential for the server “YUJIN” to recognize that satisfactory food alone cannot compensate for very poor customer service. I hope that the owner takes this feedback seriously and addresses more improved training, customer service and ethical guidelines for “YUJIN”.
I sincerely HOPE my feedback HELPS this restaurant identify areas of improvement and delivers a better dining experience to future customers.
(P.S their food is very expensive. If you value attentive and empathetic customer service PLEASE save yourself and DO NOT GET YUJIN AS YOUR SERVER if it is your first time here because SHE DOES NOT HELP OR CARE AT ALL ABOUT GIVING THE BARE MINIMUM CUSTOMER SERVICE. You will be disappointed and frustrated having a...
Read moreThe food was okay as any other Korean restaurants, not to say worse and more expensive than some on Christie St. The worst thing about this restaurant is the horrendous service. I ordered sprite while my friends wanted a thing looking like rice milk. We asked what the name of it was but it turned out she knows little English and just pointing at the word "non-alcohol" next to it. That was not a big deal as we did not really need to know the name of that drink. However she asked for the ID of everyone though sprite and that "rice milk" were non-alcoholic (as already stated in the menu and by herself!!!)My friends did not bring ID that day so she gave us only sprite!!! During our meal, she did not put them gently but was like throwing chopsticks, bowls to us and meat onto the grill. And you had to ask for napkins or else she gave you nothing (maybe keeping for herself at home???). When we needed something we had to wait like 10 minutes. We know it was busy, but what made us disappointed is that when we pushed a button to call the service (that's how they do), all the servers were in the kitchen but no one came out to help. One of them took a glance at us as we kept pushing the button, but turned her head right away to avoid eye contact (like she did not have to be responsible for what she did not know) When we asked for the bill, we had to ask for 3 times. And when we paid and halfway out of the restaurant, the server asked us to come back to tip more!!!!!! We were so generous that we had tipped 10% but she said at least 15% You served customers like trash but you wanted more tip??? You don't feel ashamed for yourself??? Ok! We gave her the rest of tip and swore to ourselves that we would never come back to that hell again. Also, if you can not speak English in Canada, learn the language carefully before serving and doing business or get back to...
Read moreI left a review before Covid and gave them 5 stars. We used to go there all the time (and I mean 3 times a week even) and while the BBQ at this location isn't AYCE, they do offer quite a bit for the price you pay. We went there yesterday and we were very disappointed. They repeatedly asked us about our passports even though we showed them before they even gave us a seat. Things took longer to come than usual, although it was quite empty. The lady always drops your meat on the grill for you without asking first. (I know this is normal at Nakwon, but then you can't decide which meat you want when. She dropped all the marinated ribs first, but I would have preferred to save those for last as those are the best). They also made some comments that was quite ignorant and rude. We tried their new beef ribs with salt and garlic seasoning. My cousin hated it, said it tastes like dog food (and he knows what that tastes like). Grill went out a couple times, and while the lady came to change our tray, she didn't notice it was off so we were waiting for the beef that we moved from the previous tray to finish cooking but it wasn't happening. As others have said, you need to ring them to get any attention. At the end of the day, we spent $160 for 4 BBQ beef dishes. I paid them and gave a tip, but she looked at the receipt and said it wasn't enough. It felt like she wouldn't let us leave unless we paid more (and we really couldn't leave our booth since she was blocking it). My cousin who hated the service the most offered to pay $10 (on top of my tip) but he only had his debit card. SHE put in $15 on the card reader. I get that businesses are struggling, but tips are still optional, and we have the right to pay what we feel we deserve. We won't be coming back, at least not to...
