I've been a patron here for about 8 years. It was originally managed by a person named Jay who was fantastic.
We would host most of our parties and gatherings here, buying premium bottles. Our bills would be over $1000+ each time. The management here would take care of us and comp the room costs since we would buy 3-5 premium bottles each time. And they provided the best customer service.
When Jay left, I understood it was taken over by new management. Danny was the new manager, and it took some time but he was also willing to keep us happy since we came so frequently and were good customers.
Fast forward to 2020, we went here for our new years celebration. It was not being managed by a person named Hun. We opted to purchase our usual premium alcohol, and originally we had a large group. When we got there, they forced us to prepay for our bill (which was very unusual), but even worse, they refused to comp our room costs even though we've been receiving this for over 8 years. The room costs were an additional $400 on top of our bill! We refused, and they said we had no other option because the entire studio was booked up that night. They said hey we can discount you, and we agreed because it was new years eve, paid but we didn't purchase as many bottles that night given that they were up charging us an extra $400 for the room. In addition, the karaoke machine we usually use has a lot of English songs. They said they stopped using those, and only use the Korean machine which has old English songs. The newest song is probably from 2017 and there are a handful of them only.
Also leading into the night (11pm, 12am) more than HALF of the rooms were empty which meant we could have acquired a smaller, cheaper room. I asked Hun why he said the rooms were booked up when they clearly weren't, and he laughed and walked away.
Overall given our last experience where we were charged $700 for 2 premium bottles and room charges, our group of friends made the decision that we will no longer come to Studio after our 8 years of commitment. We even pre-tipped them without knowing their service.
It used to be a great place, but the new management does not know how to keep their long time customers happy. They have no relationship building with us, when we've likely dropped thousands of dollars here over the years.
They don't have good selection of english music. No new music at all, so only come here if you want music made before 2000's.
They used to give a whole bunch of chasers etc. but now they give you 4 cans of pop. FYI we bought 2 premium bottles :-) and 4 cans of pop.
Hope Studio can make some changes to be what it used to be. Until then, we will never return. Hey maybe we'll open our own karaoke bar...

Before! My friend and I used to go to this place all the time. The songs and service were mediocre, but still good enough for us. We never had any major issues or complaints.
Now! The place looks much fancier. BUT! the price for a small room $300!! Wtffff ... the manager let us in a room because he had 1.5hr spare before a group comes in. He said he will charge us hourly which was ok with us. NOBODY walked us to the room, NOBODY showed or explained how their system works. We were pointed in the room direction. I mean if we are not leaving there $300, it doesn't mean you treat your patrons this way.
The karaoke machine was confusing AF! We were choosing artists or songs (english, we dont know mandarin/cantonese), but it kept playing something Chinese. We tried various artists and songs, but nothing. We asked the server to explain to us what was happening. PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO HOW THEIR SYSTEM WORKS! They have their server storage which is filled with whatever songs they have downloaded. BUT their system shows ALL available songs from their storage and the cloud (separate entity).and there is no way to filter thru which songs come from the server and which need to be downloaded. So let's say if you wanna sing Justin Bieber song, you have to wait (quoting the server) "it will take long time to download 1song". Which doesn't make sense. All the songs we wanted to sing we would have to wait to download, meanwhile on the screen they would play some default Chinese songs/commercials or whatever videos. YOU GO FOR KARAOKE, BUT INSTEAD YOU SIT IN A ROOM AND WAIT UNTIL THE SONGS YOU WANNA SING WOULD DOWNLOAD.... CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN WHY TF IT...
Read moreOverall not impressed with this place. They just showed us the room and no explanation given on how to use the system or what the order menu options were. I had to go look for them to ask. Or else that 15min of us just sitting around would be a waste. The price for bottle service my God. Is it 4x the price. So. Just be aware that you're paying a lot for bottles and use YouTube to sing...no system. The system they said isn't updated at all with recent songs...so to cast YouTube to sing.
Even after buying all the drinks they didn't think to bring water or coke or cranberry We had to go after we were so dehydrated to get them to bring cranberry ....no coke we kept asking for coke. There was like 5 people working that day including the owner it seems. So I really don't know what was going on.
I'm just glad I had good friends with me who were able to turn this trash situation into something better. Highly don't recommend this place unless you're okay with just paying for next to no service for a YouTube sing along room. Much better options out there for sure. Will do better research next time to avoid running into these types of places.
Only nice thing about this place is it's pretty. Nicely...
