5 stars for Sophia, a 3 for the restaurant. When I came in and said I’m here for takeout, I was greeted in a bit of a cold way, felt a little intimidated. Asked for help with the menu, the front entrance host (a gentleman) probably though I asked for the menu, he gestured me to a bench. I looked over the menu, then came up again, asked for help deciding on my order. He got a waitress for me who was really nice sweet and helpful. So eventually I was greeted and helped well. It seems like a nice atmosphere restaurant, soothing space lighting etc, from what i saw, as I got takeout. Looks like a party place more so, with drinks etc. Maybe that’s why I didn’t initially receive the appropriate warmth , because I came in alone for a modest takeout. In which case imho I think I should’ve been a welcomed guest, maybe I would’ve dined in. Literally, I went to dine in a different food court. The food is good, fresh, but it is pricey. If I came with company, I’m sure we could try many more menu items at a good price, but I came alone and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I got myself a good quality tasty dinner for $28. I chose simple sushi rolls because of a budget in mind and because I didn’t want fried stuff. My sushi (Eskimo and California maki, also miso soup) was very fresh, particularly Eskimo had a great amount of nice salmon, and avocado- super fresh. But was the dish flavours and presentation shockingly exceptional - no, however it was good quality. I just wish I had more of an opportunity to try something more interesting, richer flavour combinations, but felt constricted by prices. however the server Sophia - TRULY went above and beyond to ensure walking me through the menu, ensuring I am happy with my choice, was very warm and welcoming. She assured me she will bring me my order as soon as it’s ready (take out) and she did bring it super soon, wrapped up very neatly, put in soy enough sauce and spicy mayo (I forgot to ask for it) “just in case I’d want an extra spice” truly amazing, such a warm person. Their menu is huge - so many items, she made me feel completely comfortable, while choosing the menu, waiting and after leaving - she truly created a warm positive and comfortable feeling. Wish this kind of service and quality was across the board

Ive been here many times the past few years. Its time i write my review on this sushi joint! Its one of the best on yonge in this area! Food is alllllllways fresh, service staff are super polite & friendly, the restaurant is clean and well kept (even their washrooms)! After a long stressful day at work, i just wanted a simple light meal. My server was very handsomely, well groom gentleman who suggested this delicious Avocado Crunch Roll!!! Its fresh avo slices ontop of tempura bits rolled up in the middle! MMM! I also got the Chicken Katsu dinner bento (kids meal). Chicken portion was huge and nicely panko crusted, deep friend to a nice golden colour. Perfect crunchy texture w.out drying/overcooking the chicken! Mmm hits the spot! I also got a mini soup cup w.noodles in it! Nice start while i waited for everything to come out (not that it took long, ever!). Thank you for distressing my night Sushi Moto! *****UPDATE!!!***** i never care for desserts much at restaurants bc i feel like they dont "specialize" in sweets and its not their main focus...but yesterday i had their fbi dessert! fried banana w.ice cream and chocolate drizzle! it was so good! the bananas were crispy outside and not soggy or oily like most places. paired up w.a side scoop of classic vanilla icecream! mmm!! i always leave here happy and full! thank you sushi moto!! *****UPDATE!!!***** Another great visit today for lunch! They're always consistent w.everything! Today we had kalbi ribs, avocado crunch roll (again), some handrolls and the beef sashimi!

Absolutely loved our dining experience at Sushi Moto! We did a walkin for Valentine’s Day dinner and they were super prompt in accommodating us. Food: We ordered shrimp tempura for appetizers as well as 2 specialty rolls: hungry roll and sushi moto legend and Matsu sushi platter which came with 15 nigiri and 12 maki rolls! The shrimp tempura was made with tiger prawns which were super fresh and had the natural sweetness of a good juicy shrimp! The specialty rolls stole the show as they were absolutely worth the money. They were a little loaded but I am not complaining about it. The Matsu platter was a little hit and miss for us as we found the nori to be not as fresh and super chewy in some of the rolls. My recommendation will be to go for the speciality rolls as they are unique to the restaurant and they do them really well. We paired our meal with the most delicious Chardonnay (Vineland) and the sweetness of the wine paired excellently with the meal. Service: despite the busy evening the servers were very prompt and paid ample attention to the table and checked in during the meal for anything else that could be needed. They did not rush the meal; and I appreciated that. Atmosphere: The place felt a little darker initially but eventually it all settled in. They had golf playing on the tv and it was really not going with the vibe of the place and felt like background noise. Thankfully the booths dampened the sound a bit so one could talk across the table.

Good luck to concerned customers regarding food or refreshment… I’ve often frequented this restaurant, but recently have been wondering "why do I continue to dine here?”  In my years of visiting Sushi Moto, I’ve never complained or sent food back to the kitchen before.  The meals are usually well-prepared, but lately the customer service here has really been poor.  Despite being “hand-tied”, the waitstaff have been doing their best.  However the management has been… well, to say the least… just plain rude!  I’m tolerant to a point, but can’t overlook a manager telling his customer(s) that he “doesn’t care” when presented with an opportunity to make things right - certainly something as simple as a drink!.  It’s too long of a story as to the "why and how", but ultimately it just seems Sushi Moto has gotten to the point where they feel busy and popular enough that customer loyalty is not a priority for them.   I've given the restaurant a couple of stars simply for the sake of their servers and chefs.  But the poor consideration and unacceptable service from those in a supervisory role, has driven the rating down to merely two stars.   This once reputable restaurants’ website affectionately states on their home page  “Every customer must feel welcomed as soon as they arrive. Every guest must be happy and smiling when they leave”.  Yet, thanks to discourteous management, I’ll be looking into some of the many other area-alternatives to Sushi Moto and no longer asking myself why I...
