Very displeased about this restaurant. My experience was very poor, from the service down to the meal. The food quality is very overpriced for what you actually receive. I went there for a birthday party for 15 people. The evening before our reservation, we contacted our host and told her that someone had passed away and that 4 people could not attend because of a funeral. We went to the restaurant with our 11 guests. The service was ok, nothing special. I am saying this because we had a four course meal and cutlery was not changed between each course. When the food came out and we asked for condiments, we were left waiting for about 15 minutes, and our food went cold. When it came time to pay the bill, the restaurant wanted to charge us for 15 people instead of 11 people that actually attended even though the restaurant was empty the entire time. We spoke to the manager and he told us that since the reservation was for 15 people, we had to pay for 15 people. He also wanted to charge 28% gratuity on the 4 people who did not attend and were not served (this was disgustingly egregious at this point). We told the manager that since they are charging for 4 extra people and they claim they prepared meals for them, then we should at least receive the meals that we are paying for. He told us he would go speak to the kitchen and come back. When the manager came back, he told us the kitchen was closed and still demanded that we pay for at least 13 people even though we were at the party of 11 people. It was unfair seeing how the restaurant was empty the entire night and that we notified them beforehand of our situation. This place has horrible service and food quality, in my opinion. This place acts like it is the same quality as "Fine Dining," like "HARBOR 60" or "The Octagon" restaurant , but in reality, it is sub-par and equal to Moxies (not even The KEG). I was very disappointed and, in the end, ruined my birthday experience. Restaurants that only care about money and not the customer experience, in my opinion, should not be in business. This is not a "FAMILY RESTAURANT" buyers beware!

Wyck Recommends: Nodo (Liberty Village, Toronto) Rating: 4.1/5 Nodo is what happens when someone builds a beautiful Italian restaurant and forgets it’s still in Liberty Village. The place looks great—big, bright, modern—but the second you circle for parking, reality hits harder than a bad espresso. Pro tip: there’s a 20-minute free spot near the bank—use it or start budgeting like you’re downtown (because you are). Let’s talk food: the gnocchi is the main character here—light, pillowy, and easily the best thing leaving that kitchen. The rest? Decent. Respectable. The kind of food you enjoy but forget by the time your overpriced parking runs out. In the summer, they shuck oysters like it’s the Hamptons and sometimes squeeze in live music—rare, but a vibe when it happens. They’ve also got shutter doors that open in good weather, so you can pretend for five minutes you don’t live in a city that taxes you for breathing. Pros: ✔ Gnocchi slaps—don’t even think about skipping it ✔ Beautiful space—great lighting, clean lines, solid date spot ✔ They also do Brunch ✔ Surprisingly good for big groups—Liberty miracle ✔ Pricing’s fair… if you don’t count what you paid to park Cons: ✖ Parking is Liberty Village at its worst—bring patience or a bike ✖ Music’s good, but rare—like common sense in this neighborhood ✖ The focaccia? Useless—skip it, carbs deserve better ✖ Food’s good, but only the gnocchi earns a memory Final Take: Nodo gets the job done—pretty spot, decent plates, and that gnocchi could start fights. You don’t come here to find God, you come here to feed a table of ten without stabbing each other over the bill. Would I go back? For the gnocchi—every damn time.

On our way to a concert at the nearby CNE, we stopped in at NODO Italian for an early meal. It's a very attractive place on the second floor, with a beautiful bar, dining room, and patio. We chose to sit at a high-top table under a covered area next to the bar. Their menu has some very attractive dishes and it took our group of seven a while to decide on what to order. Our choices included a couple of pizzas, Caesar salad, pasta, chicken, octopus, and a couple bottles of red wine. Both pizzas, one with tomato sauce and the other with a white sauce, were delicious. The crust had a nice texture, although it got a bit soggy towards the end. The flavours were very good. The pasta was perfectly cooked, with good flavour. The octopus was very tender and delicious. The chicken was also very tasty but a wee bit on the dry side. Our server brought us a complimentary serving of tiramisu as compensation. The wine, Tavernello Sangiovese Cabernet, was so enjoyable, we ended up ordering a second bottle. What we had... • Caesar Leo • Polipo E Patate • Orecchiette /// Rapini E Salsiccia • Caurà Pizza • Pianezza Pizza • Poultry /// Pollo Al Mattone • Tiramisu /// Tiramisu Tradizonalie All the dishes were attractively plated and presented. Besides the beautiful venue and good food, the service was excellent - friendly, accommodating, and very attentive.

I’ll start off by saying I really hate that I have to leave this review. I am a huge fan of the food at Nodo Liberty. I’m writing this in hopes that it is read by the right person, and what happened to us does not happen to another patron. We have been to this location a few times, the service is never super memorable, but the food is always so good that it keeps us coming back.

The service overall was not great from the start. After our drink order was taken and served, we didn’t see our waiter for a good 15-20 minutes to take our food order. We didn’t even order alcohol or cocktails and sat there with closed menus. It would’ve been lovely to place a food order shortly after soft drinks - not my main qualm, just thought i’d mention it for lack of attentiveness. To add, we were not offered any re-fills, and nobody floated by to ask us how food was.

Our real issue was finishing up food. We ordered an appetizer and were quite full from it, wanting to take our main courses as leftovers. We had LOTS of food remaining to take home. It was about 3 quarters worth of meals left each. My friend kindly asked the waiter for 2 takeout boxes and he mumbled something, picked up the food and walked away. He came back to type up the bills but he didn’t bring our leftovers back to the table.

Confused, my friend walked over and asked if we can have our to-go boxes. Nope! Our waiter THREW OUT OUR MEALS. Over $40 of combined food was thrown in the garbage, more than half an entire pizza and giant calzone went to waste. All we were told was, “Oh yeah, sorry about the food again.” and then handed us our bills. I don’t ever expect any type of relief from the bills or food to be re-made if staff makes expensive errors, but now that I look back on it, some type of gesture would have been appreciated due to the mistake.

We likely will not be returning to this location, or suggesting it any longer to our other friends or colleagues in Liberty Village. Again, it really pains me to leave this type of review. If you look at my profile, I am a person who gladly races to positively rate establishments when I get great service and have given SO MANY 5 star reviews, but this was such a let down. Food tasted amazing, but it’s not worth it to pay for fine Italian dining if the...

Myself, my partner and my in-laws visited this past Saturday night. We were going to see a show at queen Elizabeth theatre. The food was good. The drinks were good. It was pricy but that’s to be expected. It ended up costing us about $100 per person. That’s with the table sharing four apps. A main for each person and cocktails and wine for everyone, each person had three drinks. Total about $450. The food and drink aspect was good. The issue is and probably has always been at this restaurant. The restaurant is understaffed. The food runners are very slow and disorganized. We had apps and the bread that comes out didn’t until the end of the meal. We had to flag down our server who frankly was working much harder than he should have had to. We had to ask three times for the bread to come with the olives. We were sat by the bar and the number of times something was broken was five and it was loud and very disturbing. Things happen but it seemed to keep happening. People throwing or breaking things. My MIL commented on the washroom. She accidentally went into the men’s and said it was filthy and smelled like someone urinated everywhere. The women’s was fine but also in need of a cleaning. The restaurant itself is beautiful. So while the food is good and the space is lovely. The support staff stink - this coming from someone who has worked in food service for a decade and while I don’t anymore. I know the ropes and could see serious issues. The support staff also don’t run bar drinks. So we could see dozens of drinks just sitting there. They do however like to hang out in the bar and seem like they could use a better FOH lead or floor supervisor. Anyways, would we come back again. Probably not. It was close to the theatre and close to EV charging stations. The service needs to be as a good as the food for the price we paid and granted my in laws like nice things. The service and the food don’t match up, which is...
