I just googled family friendly restaurants in the area and Occasions came up. What a joke. I brought 4 of my friends with their families here for a few quick drinks before we all had to get the kids home for dinner by 6pm, (4 kids under 2 in total) The bartender that was on was at 4:30pm was lovely and served us with no issues, really great service.
Then the female manager took over around 5:30pm and told us we needed to leave the bar area as they didn’t want kids in the bar area and if we could go to the restaurant area where there were other families….there were no other families there. That was a lie. She just didn’t want to serve us. She was beyond rude and aggressive. We were literally there for less than 1.5hrs and all of our kids were in their chairs not causing any harm when the request was made. There were 3 other people in the bar. Again….what a joke. We all were having 2-3 drinks and socializing after a long week and were totally caught off guard by this aggressive request, she was so rude.
I have been in the service industry for over 15 years and would have NEVER talked to patrons the way this manager did. Not to mention there was literally NO ONE in the bar. I get kids can be loud and not what everyone want to be around but there was NO ONE there. Again it was a joke. We were there to spend a quick $200-$300 on drinks between all of us. Otherwise they would have been empty. Don’t go here with kids, they are NOT...
Read moreI attended this restaurant on Friday, November 4 with family. As we were having a private chat amongst ourselves a waitress came and asked us if there were 2 of us to which we replied yes. It is unfortunate that she listened to our conversation and it seems the only part she caught would be misconstrued as being towards her when it was not. She then loudly went to the waitress station and complained to a fellow waitress (very unprofessional). She came back to our table with cutlery, coasters and menus, threw them on the table and said, "I'm glad I'm not your server!" Very rude and not acceptable from someone working with the public!! Our actual waitress Kellie was lovely, she was very attentive and I cannot find a thing wrong with her work ethic or service. This is the sort of person who SHOULD work with the public! Food was fantastic as well! After our meal, the person I was with called to complain and the manager did not want to give her the time of day or listen to what she had to say. This manager is extremely arrogant in my opinion and if she cannot hold a neutral stance to take in both sides then she should not...
Read moreI went to occasions this evening for dinner. Just after ordering some soup and a tea I started feeling quite sick. Unfortunately I was unable to make it to the bathroom in time. And I was sick close by the waitress station. I was very very embarrassed and apologized profusely. I offered to clean it up. The waitress stated that she had one of the employees coming with the mop and not to worry. Myself and my friend asked for the food to go. As we were waiting the server and someone from back of House Began arguing about who was going to clean the mess. I approached the other waitress and said that I would clean it if they gave me a mop. The waitress responded that they didn't have a mop. Another waitress then handed me paper towel and stated that no one was willing to clean up the mess. I totally understand that vomit is a biohazard and people don't want to touch other people's vomit. But the fact that there is not a mop on the premises of the restaurant speaks to bigger problems. I have enjoyed the food here in the past but unfortunately I will...
