This is such a treasure of a spot! My husband and I went on a Sunday to celebrate his birthday, and we all had an amazing time. We booked two lanes for two hours, which was the perfect amount of time. We found street and lot parking very easily, and once we arrived we were greeted with warm welcomes and wonderful service! The staff explained the rules and details of 5-pin bowling to us, as well as how to keep score, and answered all our questions. They were very attentive and so kind! We also ordered some drinks and snacks, which were all very fresh and delicious. I personally loved that this bowling alley is upstairs and has lots of windows, so there is a lot of natural light which provides a uniquely airy feel - very different from most bowling alleys which can feel dark and enclosed. The decor was also lovely, and I appreciated that the staff took the time to share some details about the boxling alley’s long history and original parts. 100% recommend this spot for a family or friends outing!

Most people associate bowling alleys as fun places with garbage food, but I'm happy to say Shamrock Bowl not only has amazingly fun bowling, but also pretty amazing food! The pizzas are made fresh and the sandwiches on ciabatta buns also have moist delicious (not dry!) meats with really great sauces. They also have flavored fresh cut fries and some other nice apps. What's really cool about this place is the bowling. Before going here, I had no idea that its ONLY CANADA that has 5 pin bowling, and this one of the places in Canada with 5 pin bowling! The balls are smaller, and you actually keep score using cards which is not only fun but makes you actually associate with the people around you instead of relying on technology. What's also cool is if you become the 5 pin bowling champ of Canada, you're actually the world champ at 5 pin bowling!

Oh my goodness! This place was absolutely fantastic. My partner and I went here last night and we'll definitely be back. I haven't been bowling in such a long time, but I spoke to the owners (who are lovely) and I found out that they restored all of the original pieces from the 50's so you actually have an authentic 5-pin experience. (Which I learned only exists in Canada!) We enjoyed a tasty dinner that was so filling. They used simple, flavorful ingredients and the food came out nice and hot. It was also VERY reasonably priced. I'm such a big fan! If you go, definitely try the bread pudding, it was the highlight of my night!!! I was stuffed by the end, but definitely make sure you save room because it is EVERYTHING. So delicious! Highly recommend.

Full disclosure: The owner was notified that a review would be posted regarding his rude behaviour and dismissal of the severity of the snowstorm yesterday.

Most of our party was snowed in or physically unable to get to Shamrock due to the issues with the roads and public transit yesterday and when we tried to reschedule our booking, we were met with hostility and poor customer service. And to be clear, we tried to reschedule in advance in anticipation of the storm just in case but were told no. Given that we would have had to reschedule 8 days in advance to be able to fit within the company policy and are not clairvoyant, we could not predict the severity of the storm nor the peak that far in advance. The snow storm was the worst the city has seen this season and the city was urging people not to go out for unnecessary reasons.

The owner should have agreed to reschedule given the circumstances of the weather (we were not looking for a refund as we wanted to come back literally any other time) but at the very least, if the business is in such a dire situation that they needed the 200 dollars that badly and to risk the repercussion, he should have treated us with respect and apologized for not being able to do so. Instead he was rude, condescending and dismissive. I do not take writing a negative review about a business lightly but I do believe in actions having consequences. This owner was given all the opportunity to prevent the negative reviews he is receiving and maybe he will learn that treating customers kindly, goes a long way in running a business. Though I think that will likely not be the case and instead he will continue to write petty responses on the reviews and calling people names as he has done in the past (see other 1 star reviews for reference).

So just take this into consideration. Small business with a ruthless corporation attitude and an owner that I would...

I initially realized I had made a mistake and not noticed this place was 5 pin bowling and not the standard 10 pin modern version, so make sure you are aware beforehand. I called to see if they would cancel, but they were very strict, which was disappointing, so we went to try it anyway. We actually liked the activity, and the environment was cool and had a fun vintage vibe to it. Now to the negative part of this review, the lane was down for a while and we had to go and ask them multiple times and waited around for a long time for them to relocate us which was inconvenient for 2 lanes. Additionally, one of our lanes got to play much less than the other because of the faulty lane, and the staff felt so cheap and strict with actually allowing us to use the time we had paid for. It felt terrible having to basically beg them to extend it 2 minutes so they could finish their game. Usually, when these sort of thing happen, which is understandable and inevitable, they even give you extra time for the inconvenience, but here it felt like you had to argue just to be able to get your time back. This place can be fun, but there's a lot of stuff that really ended up taking away from...
