A portuguese family party doesn’t start until the codfish patties your vovo made come out. So when these creamy, delicious appetizers hit the table, I felt right at home.
Then came the Mad Cow Waffle. Now I get why they named the place “OMG.” cassava flour in the waffle, The beef with Portuguese piri piri, Lightly toasted with parmesan, every bite exploded with different flavours like the laughter around the dinner table after your tio tells one of his famous stories.
At this point, if you’re not already feeling like you’ve been floating through the Azores or posted up in Floripa, you definitely will after trying the chilled Super Bock, a light crisp, portuguese beer, classic Brazilian caparhinas, and a sweet portuguese port and tonic which is kind of like a sangria, but with that old-world Lisbon elegance.
And Like any proper family dinner, they just kept feeding me.
I tried everything on the sharing is caring platter like all of my tias were behind me, insisting I try their dish. And just like those times, they did not disappoint. Portuguese barbecue chicken wings, cassava and fries, and a parmesan Aioli recipe that’s worth passing down in the will.
Now brazilians don’t take sugar in their coffee, they take coffee in their sugar. So, to keep the party going, I had a shot of sparkling water to cleanse the palate, then a sweet espresso, stirred with a cinnamon stick for that cozy flavour.
Although there’s nothing sweeter than sharing a meal and the present moment with someone who lights your heart up, these desserts came pretty close.
We came for the food — but somewhere between the first bite and the last drink, something shifted. The laughter got louder. The Notifications stopped mattering, And No one was checking the time. And for a moment, it reminded me what going out was supposed to feel like.

Read moreLeaving a 5 star review because I loved the place and the staff we encountered were wonderful and really busting their *sees the entire time we were there. Appreciate it’s a family owned business and likely experiencing staffing constraints as a result. Having said that, we went for lunch on the weekend - there was one waitress and 2 back of the house staff. Everyone was working very hard - but the staffing is just inadequate for the business and popularity of the place. We waited a really long time for everything - initial order, drinks, food, the bill. And all other tables seemed to be in the same boat. The place is great - they just need a second server to help out. The only server there was making drinks (high quality and delicious - but those types of mixed cocktails take time - time away from running food, checking in, taking orders, settling the bill). Really my only critique - they may be able to provide better service and serve more customers (a couple of people came in and left due to the wait times). The place is small - one more server would do it! Otherwise everything was truly fantastic (well except we weren’t told gratuity was included in our bill so ended up tipping double 😫). Thanks for the delicious authentic...
Read moreWhat a charming place, with lots of plants, delicious Brazilian fusion food and good service.
I had one of the Brazilian waffles, which is made of the same gluten-free dough as the famous Brazilian traditional Pao de Queijo. I chose the Oh! BLA, and substitute the bacon for cheese. Very tasty, but I would definitely add to the menu some variations/ingredients options to make it more personalized to the clients taste. And perhaps have it on the menu, the option for the client to create its own, with the ingredients available.
We also ordered the bitoque with beans and OMG! It tasted like real authentic Brazilian food.
They also have little Brazilian deserts, dindim (Brazilian style of freeze), refrigerated and fresh coxinhas (Brazilian chicken croquette), Escondidinho (Brazilian traditional casserole), cappuccinos, lattes, teas, alcoholic beverages and much more. Music was relaxing and joyful.
They have brunch menu for the weekends and I can’t wait to try it out.
Very clean place, including the bathroom, and all was just part of a great experience. We will definitely come back. Thank you guys and we wish you lots...
