Ross and the gang keep this place going well. Ice cold beer and great pub food. There are still a few memories on the wall in respect to the old past owner, Dino. How cool is that? It pleases me to see that Ross holds tradition that this bar is a great place to meet friends, drink, eat and watch a game. This joint is in better shape than its ever been. If you live in the hood, this little pub should be your local. If you are just passing through the neighbourhood, then take a break and drop in for a drink and something to eat. The prices are fair and the service is excellent. At this present day and age, Hurricanes at Bloor and Dovercourt should be considered a city landmark. This bar is a Toronto institution. Legend. Do yourself a favour and drop by. This bar/pub has been looked after and brought up to speed but when you walk through the door, you will know you are stepping into a 1980's style bar. How...
Read moreStarted having a bar food craving recently and decidedly to binge on the local scene.
Definitely warm food is amazing especially when you're within walking distance. Fish and chips were crispy despite perspiring in the container. Nachos were well packed and presented with cheese, definitely enough to feed 4 small children of a meal. Odd surprise with the pizza rolls since I didn't expect pepperoni wrapped in egg wrappers, and the deep fried crunch with the soft inside was a nice texture to bite into as an app.
Current hired staff are really nice at the door, though a bit inconvenient to call to order before entering. Unfortunately I never step foot inside before the pandemic but definitely a few glances recently carries a more cleaner Sneaky Dee's vibe.
Would visit in the future when the situation isn't take-out only. For now, definitely want to return to try their...
Read moreTL;DR: I would like to give it a 4.5. Cool little place on Bloor. Good food and service.
I came across this bar while on Bloor with my friends and thought we give it a try. Really like the aesthetic of the place and the staff were nice.
The menu was standard bar food, nothing too special. They have a lot of options for vegetarians and vegans and accommodated my friend with the tacos; they replaced the chicken tacos ingredients with vegan friendly options. My only complaint was the fish and chips (fries) were WAY TOO salty, even for me. I had to ask my waiter a few times for more water because of how salty the food was, and they kind of took awhile to get me the water. On the plus side, doesn’t seem like they water down their drinks.
I’m a huge fan of chicken sandwiches so I’ll definitely come back to try theirs since my friend said...
