So I ordered some of OTR's vegan meals and I am so impressed that I need to let everyone know just how good they are and why. The delivery too was friendly and on time!
BBQ Vegan Burger There are plenty of great meat alternatives out there, but it’s rare to come across something that can give you the same heartiness AND juiciness of meat. This is why I am so excited about OTR’s BBQ Vegan Burger. The meatless burger patty topped with OTR’s house made BBQ sauce satisfies cravings for something hearty, juicy, and savoury. The patty has a fantastic texture and tastes so good that I had to fight off my meat-eating boyfriend from finishing my meal. The roasted vegetables and salt-and-vinegar potatoes really bring this meal together. It has all the components of an appetizing BBQ dish, but without the calories and lazy feeling that usually comes with eating traditional (real meat) BBQ.
Moroccan Beefless One of my childhood friends is Moroccan, which is to say that I grew up eating my share of Moroccan cuisine. The first thing I said when I took a bite of this meal was, “Oh, this tastes just like insert-friend’s-mom’s-name used to make!” It’s authentic. The hummus that accompanies this dish is zesty, creamy, and flavourful, and it nicely balances the spices used in this dish that are found in traditional Moroccan cuisine. Aside from the flavours, what stood out to me were the textures of this meal: the smooth creaminess of the hummus, the crunch of the grilled veggies, and the fluffiness rice and lentils, that’s all grounded by the beefless beef.
Cajun Chickpeas Being vegan, I am well-versed in chickpea. I’ve come to know the legume very, very well. Having said that, I thought I knew what to expect from this dish. After giving this plate a try, I can tell you that it smashed my preconceived notions of chickpea dishes. I was BLOWN away. OTR’s creativity with this dish just revamped and amped up chickpea based meals. The in-house Cajun spice blend used on the roasted chickpeas, combined with the garlic herb brown rice, and roasted vegetables, give chickpea dishes a whole new range of taste. I loved the fresh touch of jalapeno and lemon, and the lime aioli is so rich and creamy that I can’t believe it’s vegan—but it is!
Thai Curry Tempeh Full disclosure: This dish made me feel happy and loved. It’s something you want to eat after a long day because it’s warm and comforting. The curry tempeh is creamy and nutty and mixes well with the silky rice. The use of the curry was perhaps my most favourite part of this meal: OTR goes for a depth of flavour that builds and lingers. Add to it the freshness of the vegetables and herbs, this meal is reminiscent of the contrasting yet complementary, complex flavours typically found in Thai cuisine.
Tandoori Tofu This dish is pleasing to the eyes, with the bold colour of the tandoori tofu and its charbroiled marks. But it’s not just a pretty thing—it can back up its bold looks with its robust flavour. Again, OTR really hit the nail on the head when it comes to staying true to the flavours of a culture’s cuisine. The blend of spices is the main event of this meal. It’s perfect—not overpowering, but not bland either. The tandoori spice mix used on the tofu, and the turmeric used to season the fried cabbage and carrots, are a winning combo that livens up your taste buds. Eye-pleasing and palate-pleasing—what more can you want from your food?
Tuscan Tofu I’m a big fan of a sweet potato and greens dish with some sort of protein. So, of my order, I was the most excited to try this one. It did not disappoint—far from it! It delivered above and beyond my expectations. Looking at it, I kept forgetting that the broiled tofu wasn’t a piece of a grilled chicken breast. But thankfully, it is totally meat free. With its charbroiled marks, you can taste the fiery grill on the tofu which really brings out the taste of the traditional Tuscan spices. Accompanying the tofu is a bed of crisp, leafy greens and (I’m salivating just thinking about it), the most velvety sweet potato mash...
Read moreI can't express enough how important diet is for my lifestyle. Since my work is all over the city and I am always on the run when I work, I always found it hard and expensive to actually fuel myself during the day. After some time I realized that it just takes way too much of my time to find a spot. Matter the fact I am very picky and It is very hard for me to find a good spot so there were days that I missed my lunch, which affected rest of my day.
My friend told me to try food delivery service. Which I actually found quite convenient, although the food was either dry, suspicious, or just overpriced. So I switched from one copany to another and later trying OTR Meals. Right away I felt that I was not just another customer but rather a member of a community. The company really pays attention to details and these little but big things are what really make OTR the best in the market.
The OTR meals feels like a community that actually wants their members to eat healthy and they just value their members. Matter the fact right after joining OTR i got invited to party where I met lots of great people. So as said it's not just your food delivery company but much more than that.
To sum it up, after almost a year of being with the company I can truly say that it has made my daily life so much easier. I feel like my brain just has much more of "creative juices" as well as energy, my body does not feel as tired as I used to and the best thing about it is that taste is just on another level.
The price might honestly scare a lot of people away that are trying this service but in reality it brings so much more value to your life that just cannot be explained. I recommend anyone to try first for one week and then they will understand the whole long message that I sent.

Read moreOn The Run Meals is a life changer! My wife and I have been ordering meals for over 2 years now. It has been an incredibly positive experience. Working long hours doesn't give us the time and energy leftover to prepare our own healthy meals. We've got very high standards in quality/health, enjoy a large variety of both ethnic and domestic foods and OTR has all. OTR meals use high quality natural ingredients that are absolutely delicious. My wife loves the Vegan menu and I prefer the Low Carb one. The portions are perfect in size and there's a wide variety of choices. Even the Vegan menu uses 5 different meat alternatives. All the meat proteins; Chicken, Beef, Salmon, Cod, Shrimp are awesome. I'm very hesitant to order shrimp even at a high end restaurant, but OTR shrimp is fresh and delicious every week. Some of our favourite items include The Jackfruit Tacos, Vegan Burger, Korean Beef, Tandoori Chicken, Jerk Shrimp and the list goes on. The meals are pre-cooked, which you think might affect the freshness or taste, but it doesn't. We put our meals in the toaster oven for 12-20 minutes and they taste like they came right out of our favourite restaurant kitchen. The menu changes every two weeks and all the meals are designed specifically, so there all kinds of nice little touches. The deliveries are friendly and on time. Recently, I've been getting text msg alerts when a delivery is on the way and once my meals have been delivered. They also have great juices, breakfast options and healthy snacks. The quality and consistency of OTR Meals is incredible. The prices are extremely fair for the high quality of food and service . Looking back over the past 2 years we were able to remain highly productive at work, stay healthy and eat well because of them. You gotta...
