Otto’s Berlin Döner at the Waterworks in Toronto is a true gem if you’re looking for something different from the usual shawarma spots.
The doner here is bursting with flavor, made with a great recipe, and served in their freshly baked in-house Turkish pita, which really takes it to another level. Every bite feels authentic and carefully crafted.
The sides are just as impressive — their fries are crisp and flavorful, and the cheese sticks are a perfect complement to the meal. On top of that, Otto’s has a solid selection of beers on tap.
I tried the Paulaner München, which paired beautifully with the doner, but their menu offers plenty of other choices for beer lovers to explore.
What really stood out to me was the service.
My server, Nikhil, was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable.
He took the time to explain the menu and guided me to the right choice for my doner, which I absolutely loved. Friendly, attentive service like this makes the whole dining experience even better.

Our only wish was that there would be a stronger curry flavor as it was fairly mild. Fries were decent and probably would have been better with the couscous.
We sat at the bar and manager was really friendly and asked us how we were enjoying the food and the experience. We really liked that he was making his customers...
Read moreIt was a beautiful day out yesterday. Figured I'd grab some lunch here and eat outside at the park.
I got the seasonal currywurst with a 50/50 mix of fries and couscous. The couscous was very goo, which surprised me. The fries was ok...wish they were a little more crunchy. The currywurst was good not amazing but good. I'd eat this again for sure. It's not the cheapest lunch option in the area but it feels healthy.
Service was ok but there were a few tweaks needed. I never got asked if I wanted a drink or my receipt 🧾. Asking to sell me a drink seems like an easy upsell.
Some group in front of us was taking forever to order. It was a slower experience then I'd...
