Visited this restaurant a couple of times. It always extremely busy even on a Monday or Tuesday. So it's best to make a reservation to ensure a seat and no wait. One of my favourite things at this restaurant is their creamy croquettes. They were absolutely delicious. The filly was smooth, creamy and cheesy. I've also tried the aburi sushi set. It came with a variety of different nigiri. They were all torched and paired with a different sauce and topping on top. The Sushi was pretty good. They were fresh and flavourful. Sometimes I also order the unagii aburi Sushi on the side because it's extremely delicious. But there's addition charges to make the regular unagi nigiri into an aburi unagi Sushi. I think it was an additional $0.50-$1? I don't remember the exact cost but it's good We've also ordered the salmon oshi and the tuna oshi. To me I felt like the tuna oshi was way better than the salmon one. The salmon oshi was meh, it felt like something was missing. It has a different flavour to it compared to miku and jabistro. But price was pretty reasonable for the portion. Two thing I would not recommend ordering are the wasabi tako and the island rolll. In my opinion, the wasabi tako wasn't really worth it. I didn't really like the taste of it. The flavour was really strong, it went up my nose. But if you like wasabi they it's worth a try. As for the island roll. To me it was just bad. I didn't like the texture of it because of the sweet potato that they topped it with. It tasted like baby food and didn't blend well with the roll. Overall, decent place for some sushi but better for beer and drinks because they have nice specials depending on what day you go. Service was alright but the waiters weren't too attentive the times I went.

My party went to SAKU for Summerlicious on a Tuesday evening. It was quite packed and there was a lineup in the doorway with customers on the side waiting to be called. At first the waitresses would greet those in line and let them know the wait time, afterward it took a couple minutes to flag down a waitress and I was a bit worried as I had a reservation and did not want to be skipped. After being seated down the waitress explained to us how the Summerlicious menu worked and we were given a couple minutes to decide what to order. They did reconfirm our order after we placed the order which was appreciated. I ordered the BC Tuna & Salmon Tataki Salad which was really delicious and the fish tasted fresh. The yuzu pepper vinaigrette added a really good kick to each bite. Each member of my party ordered one special roll + tacos. I would say I enjoyed the special roll (Ocean Dream) much more than the bulgogi taco. I ordered an Oreo Churros as my dessert and was a bit disappointed in the taste of it to end off the night. If given another opportunity I would have gone with either the Cheesecake or Dorayaki Sandwich. Atmosphere wise it is quite busy with moderate noise. The lightning dimmed midway through our meal so it was a bit hard to see even with all the deco light up. I would advise to be extra cautious going down the stairs to the bathroom as it looked like a dark tunnel going down with light at the bottom.

What a great spot! My friend and I were long overdue for a catchup and went to Saku for dinner. There were so many fun drinks to try on their cocktail menu. I went for the Yuzu Totoro and it had such a nice, balanced flavour! For starters, we got the Takowasabi. I was surprised it came with tortilla chips alongside the regular seaweed that I'm used to, but it worked! Then for mains, we shared the Chef Special Aburi Sushi, and because we were at a sushi + taco bar.. we had got our own tacos. We loved the Aburi Sushi! Each fish was so fresh and tasty, I could have had another 10 pieces. My friend got the crispy shell Camaron (Shrimp) while I got the soft shell Soy Garlic Tinga (Chicken). There was so much chicken in mine, I had to eat some of it first before I could properly hold it like a taco. If you get a soft shell, I highly recommend eating it promptly once it is served because we were talking for so long, the sauce soaked the shell and it crumbled in my hand. Oops! I'll definitely be back to try some of the other menu items! There were so many interesting options. Aside from food, our service was great. They were always checking in to make sure we had water for the table, and were happy to share recommendations. The restaurant itself was clean and I liked the decorations. When I first walked in, there was a strong perfume smell but luckily that faded quickly. I'll be back!

i picked this place after seeing the reviews, i thought the food would be good and the environment would be nice for a group of 6. but i was wrong.

service: the waitresses weren't welcoming at all, on my way in, i accidentally bumped into something, causing the 3 waitresses behind the bar to look at me and laugh?? the service wasn't that great, and the food wasn't all that. definitely not worth the mandatory 20% tip they put on your bill (which quite frankly, i find unfair, but oh well). service rating: 2.5/10

food: the food didn't taste that great, the rice (on the sushi rolls) was dry, kept falling apart. the fish itself didn't taste fresh, most of it was chewy. my friend had the camron taco (shrimp taco), which she couldn't even eat because it tasted horrible. i had a bite and wish i didn't. food rating: 3/10

atmosphere: the environment was so depressing, the decorations were so off, nothing matched and light was so dim and feels like you're sitting in a cave. i noticed the water sprinklers were covered by the ceiling tape or whatever that was, which im pretty sure is a fire hazard!!!! atmosphere rating: 1/10

i was sitting there waiting for my food when i noticed the brochure on the table had a "rate us on google for a free dessert!" sign, which then made so much sense to me why the reviews were so high, so i spent the next 5 minutes praying the food would at least be good, trying to keep my hopes up but i was very disappointed.

honestly, all in all, what we paid for the food was overpriced for what we got, the service was not it at all and the place itself makes me want to rethink my whole life. i would not go here again and i would for sure not recommend this...

I would have given this place a 5 stars if it wasn’t for my last encounter. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the decoration was really nice and it was calm and not so busy. The staff let us stay for 3 hours without rushing us to go or get our bills which we really appreciated. The food was really good and fairly priced too. I asked for a take our container to put my left overs which was a decent amount I couldn’t finish (I ordered too much). I accidentally left the container for at least a few minutes before remembering I forgot it. When I went back the waitress (which wasn’t our host) told me that it was here in the side. She looked a little uncomfortable when I interacted with her. I got my food and left but I just thought to check if it was my food before I left. To my surprise, HALF the food was eaten already. I was too in shock to confront the waitress because that has never happened to me before. I felt so grossed out that my food had been touched that I had to throw it out and like I said before, the container was almost full. I feel like it would have been fine if she had said that they accidentally threw my container out then giving me half eaten food. If that was the case I would have gladly accepted that it was my fault to have left the container behind. I don’t know if this is regular behaviour for the staff to eat the leftovers of the customers but I really felt uncomfortable with that. I’m both sad that I didn’t get my leftovers that I paid for and grossed out that she ate my food and gave it back to me as if I would not...
