Randomly walking down the street I decided to eat something. I found two pizza places identical to one another and I instantly looked at the Google ratings to figure out which one should I go to.
The pizza joint on the right hand side seemed okay and the reviews were fine. The pizza joint on the left hand side had some rave reviews and seem to be a late night go to snack, the server was outside smoking before throwing away her cigarette. I was instantly sold on this experience.
Thankfully I didn't experience rush hour, there were about three of four people here. I'd suggest coming in when it isn't so busy, it felt a little crowded. There was a small selection of Pizzas, great for me because I don't want too much choice, they seem to specialise in just a few options. I opted for a meat lovers, they branded it with a famous MLB team which I'm sure most Torontonians have heard a few dozen times.
She warmed it up and then I delved into it. I chucked some chili flakes, hot sauce and bbq sauce with felt very reminiscent to the sauce you put on pho, strange.
Eating it was bloody tasty. I'll come back here again, sober or inebriated. 5...
Read moreThis is the second time I've ordered from here. I love the pizza but the service is plain horrible. The first time we ordered peppers on our pizza and the guy argued for 10 minutes on the phone with me after the pizza was made because he put pepperoni saying the menu states "peppers" so he was right to assume peppers=pepperoni. After the argument he made it seem like I was inconveniencing him and replied with "well I'll make a new pizza" and hung up. The second time we tried to order on the website and it wouldn't let us check out so we called in and placed an order. Our online price was $34.50 (taxes in with no delivery charge as the order was over $15.) When we called in he said our price was $40.95! When I asked about the difference there were excuses about how the prices changed, this and that, and finally he said how about $36.90 (including a $3 delivery charge)? When I called him on the delivery charge he seemed annoyed to which my response was cancel the order I will go elsewhere. It's really unfortunate because the pizza is good, but the terrible terrible service has caused me NEVER to come back here. Hire some...
Read moreWent into Papa Ceo's today while we were taking our son on a tour of U of T for next year. Let's qualify this by saying this is the first time I've been there for over 25 years from the time I went to U of T. I remember the Sophia Loren pizza, the Rambo etc, they all had unique names. When we walked into the store I looked at all of the slices and they were stale looking and NOT what I was accustomed to. I know it's been a long time, but Papa Ceo used to be the go to place after a night on the town and the pizza was amazing. I wish the people who frequent the store today could taste what it used to be like. If they did they would say "What?" to the new offerings. We ended up going next door to Cora's and had a nice Canadian slice. Cora never used to have the unique names for their pizza's like Ceo's did, but they were always a rival. I guess like all things, time's change, ownerships change and pizza changes. I was SO looking forward to taking our son to Papa Ceo's but upon looking a the pepperoni, deluxe, margueritte, etc, was very...
