Food is good, but it does not worth the price and the service. My boyfriend and I went there to have lunch on a Sunday. They have 2 types of fix price menu for lunch, but one of them (the "VELOCE VELOCE") is just for weekdays (although it is not specified in their website). So each one of us got one of the "lunch special", which includes one appetizer, any pizza or pasta, and a soft serve ice cream. First of all, I was very disappointed as I just went there to eat their burrata and they did not have it. Come' on, the menu is not that extensive... But ok, first disappointment, let's move on. I only voted 4 stars because of the appetizers. The chopped salad and the calamari fritti are AMAZING! For main, I had the "Egg Yolk Raviolo", which does not worth the price and it does not satisfy your hunger. I asked the waitress and she said that it would come 2 raviolis, but then I realized that the word "raviolo" is singular. The dish is very small and it does not make sense for me the amount of bread that came with the raviolo. It was too much bread for not too much stuff inside the raviolo. My boyfriend got their The Bodega pizza. It was a "just fine". It was not something that impressed us... actually, the combination of ingredients in the pizza was kind of weird. At least the pizza has good size, so it helped me as the raviolo dish was very small. The ice cream was good, but again, it did not impress us. The service was kind of "meh". The restaurant was not crowded, but it seemed that they were in a rush and that they just wanted that people leave. I had read so many good reviews about this restaurant that I was expecting more from the food and from the service (since we paid for it, it is not cheap).

The winterlicious special deal is definitely so worth it for this restaurant! An entire course (appetizer, main, dessert) was $35 and the portion size was pretty big. I cannot recommend the restaurant even more. Possibly one of the best American Italian restaurants I’ve been to. We ordered: 1. Baby Gem Caesar Salad The baby lettuces were so crisp and fresh! The thick, fatty bacon bits and crunchy croutons were an amazing addition. The Caesar dressing was just right was well 2. Burrata Pomodoro Bread was so soft, buttery, and crisp on the outside. Burrata had a creamy centre with beautiful stringy layers that pulled apart so easily. Roasted cherry tomatoes were sweet and juicy. The romesco sauce added such nice, bold flavor to the burrata and bread. It was a little sweet and thick with the aroma of tomato and pepper. 3. The Sweet Hornet Pizza Seriously one of the best thin-crust pizzas out there! The crust was so thin, tender. The cornicione (outer crust) was airy, crunchy, yet silky in the middle! The sweet, sweet honey drizzled on top complemented the salty soppressata meat so well. The fresh mozzarella (fior di latte) topping was nice with the slightly spicy and bold soppressata. 4. Mushroom Cavatelli Such an interesting pasta! The cavatelli is like a smaller gnocchi but more doughy and dense. The intense aroma of parsley, parmesan, and truffle that permeated in the cream was unforgettable. 5. Nutella Tiramisu!! One of my fav tiramisus out there! There were so many soft, moist layers to the tiramisu and the slight bitterness of the coffee balanced well with the sweet creamy cream. The Nutella flavor actually wasn’t that strong, instead I tasted more dark chocolate in my end.

I was invited for a get-together. There was a certain number of us in the party, so everyone was forced into ordering family style. We don't get a choice of dishes served to us. It's pretty daring to put out a family style menu sample with Octopus. 9/10, it's never cooked correctly and is a general turnoff to most people. I enjoy it, but only when cooked correctly. Thankfully, we were not served Octopus. The charcuterie board was nicely laid out. The meat and bread were fantastic. I do wish there was more cheese. I loved the properly made Caesar salad brought to our table. The lettuces were tender and fresh. I did enjoy my drink. I went out of my comfort zone and ordered Nonna's Garden. It was refreshing, bitter, and herbaceous. If the price was a bit less, I would have ordered at least 2 more to compliment the meal. I feel like the dinner did go downhill when the mains started coming out. Every single dish was over salted. I really couldn't have more than a bite of each. It was sad, really, because they looked incredible. It was the collective agreement of the three other people sitting around me that there was entirely too much salt. Right down to the pepperoni on the pizza. Overall, I would have loved to have ordered the original dishes I chose before I went there before being told that it is a family style menu for the night. It was a surprise to me. I ended up spending a massive amount of money between my bill, drink, and good tip I gave. It was double what I planned to spend, and I did not get my money's worth. On the way home, the group in the car talked about it at length. The salt level was truly a disappointment because under it was great flavour, and also ordering on our own would have allowed us to limit the amount of food we had been given because the family style was entirely too much. The atmosphere is nice, and the menu does have some unique items on it. The desserts are amazing. Some of the best I ever had. I just wish that I hadn't been forced to spend that amount of money for entirely too salty food. I've spent a lot of money on dinners. Money is no object for a lot of meals for me. The night would have been perfect if it wasn't for the mains being doused with salt. I think the biggest thing however, is that my friend we were there for had a great time, and essentially that's all that matters. I will just need to turn down an invite for a large group visit to Piano Piano next time.

We ordered from the summerlicious menu. For appetisers, we got burrata al campagnolo, chopped salad and shrimp cocktail. The burrata al campagnolo comes with a piece of buttery toasted bread, oily but not too oily. grapes slightly roasted, coated with garlic oil. it was refreshing and light for summer. I was content with this dish. The chopped salad was too salty. We couldn't finish all of it because the ingredients were soaking in the bottom of the plate. Nothing much worthy to note. The shrimp cocktail is nothing wow, but it's good, not bad. The shredded cabbage was drenched in the sauce and we were not able to eat more of the cabbage after the first bite. The sauce was simply too strong. For the mains, we got canestri alla vodka, mushroom cavatelli and the spaniard pizza. The pastas were too saucy in general. The sauces were too strong too. Canestri alla vodka has a nice spice kick to it, which is usually deemed spicy in western cuisines. I personally like the spice level. Yet, it was too heavy and filling at the end for the vodka. Given that I was sharing all dishes with two people, it should be way too much for one to finish. Mushroom Cavatelli was too heavy and too creamy. I smelt the truffle more than I tasted it. The pizza was very thin, which is great, but its just okay. It was a teeny hectic as the ingredients were dragged off while eating. Could perhaps take that into account in the kitchen. The portions of the dishes were very well planned. It hit the perfect 70% full without needing to stuff ourselves up to finish. For desserts, we got the soft serve, tiramisu and the lemon cheesecake. The tiramisu was creamy, soft and light. The coffee strength was adequately strong. I caught a few lumps of mascarpone in mouth, which was no biggie for me. I enjoyed it quite well. The lemon cheesecake was pretty sweet. It resembles the stiffness of a typical new york cheesecake. I was not that impressed with this. The soft serve not too sweet. It was a choco and milk swirl soft serve. Not bad. More factors to consider, the air-con was way too cold. We had to rush to leave. The restaurant was a little packed. We waited quite a bit for the bill and waited another quite a bit for the card machine.

Came here on the weekend for Summerlicious. We heard so many good things about this place and we have been wanting to try it out for the longest time. I have been to Café Cancan before (their sister restaurant) and the food was good! The service was on point too, so I thought Piano Piano would be similar as well. The only good thing is that if you are doing Summerlicious, you have the option to choose a dish (appetizer, pizza/pasta, and dessert) from their main menu, so it could be anything from those sections, unlike other restaurants where you have a fixed menu for Summerlicious. We decided to get the Chopped Salad and Burrata Pomodoro for our appetizer. The Burrata Pomodoro was pretty good. The Chopped Salad was a large portion and was tangy from the pickled cucumber. It was kind of interesting as it had crispy chickpeas in it as well. For our mains, we had the Tortelli con Bolognese and the Fun Guy Pizza. I was debating on getting the Mushroom Cavatelli since I love mushrooms, but I went with the Fun Guy pizza. The Tortelli con Bolognese was okay. The tortelli was hard on the sides (wrap), but in the centre, it was softer from the ricotta cheese but it seemed heavy. The Fun Guy pizza was a joke, as it tasted bland and it was undercooked as it was super doughy in the centre and the crust was also pretty soft. I had two slices and my SO had one, and he thought it was super bland was well. I decided to pack it up and bring it home so I could put it in the oven to cook it some more. I literally felt so sick after consuming the pizza as I felt nauseous. For dessert, we had the Lemon Cheesecake and Chocolate Caramel Budino. Both desserts were delicious and I can honestly say that the dessert saved them. It was the only good thing and we actually finished it. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in the quality of food that they served, but dessert and their service was good. When I got home though, I was physically sick from their food that I actually threw up. It is so disappointing. Overall, I give this place a 4/10.

Considerations when dining here: 1. DO NOT BOOK YOUR RESERVATION VIA TABLZ. You will not get your $20 + taxes and fees back. Use Resy directly from Google Maps to book your reservation. 2. Sitting at the bar or at the rail near the kitchen are the better seats at this location for smaller groups. 3. The lunch special is an affordable way to experience a 3 course lunch (appetizer, entrée, dessert). 4. You can upgrade the ice cream dessert to a cake in the lunch special for $5. Food/Drink Recommedations: 1. Calamari is cooked to perfection balancing a crispy fried exterior with the soft flesh of squid. 2. The tortelli is packed with cheese and surrounding by a lovely meat sauce. The 3 pieces are very filling. 3. The Hot Rod pizza is for pepperoni lovers. The addition of fennel gives the pizza an edgy flavour. 4. The 8 later chocolate cake reads more like a brownie. Dense and delicious, topped with a cone full of chocolate soft serve. 5. The Piano Piano Chardonnay (2020) paired nicely with the Calamari. Atmosphere: The restaurant is a large, open concept diner elevated by the wallpaper and decor elements. The music selection during our visit was pleasant, cozy R&B, which we enjoyed. It was a juxtaposition to the bright tables and white chairs. Service: I'm very disappointed that you have to pay $20 + taxes and fees to choose your table through the reservation service on their website (Tablz). Please be advised that you can book your table for free through Google Maps using Resy. The hostess kindly explained the difference between the services is simply whether you want a guaranteed table in a particular section. The holiday season is stressful on servers who have to wait on large tables. However, that shouldn't take away from the dining experience of smaller tables. It was clear the servers were stressed and tired during our visit. **I recommend checking out the Colborne location purely for the atmosphere. Food quality and taste is consistent across both locations.**
