My smoked chicken and corn bread is flying down the garbage chute of my condo into a bin where it belongs. I ordered through UberEats. The food was so dry it sponged the moisture from my mouth. I had to drink liquid with every bite to shimmy it down my throat. I gave up after 5 bites. How long does a chicken thigh or a batch of cornbread have to sit for it to get that dehydrated? I took pictures. No joke. They cooked that chicken into fibres. The corn bread reverted back to corn meal. The irony is that the French fries were soggy AF. But, the steam from the hot food can do that during delivery. Nevertheless, how can any self-respecting cook or owner put that food into a to-go container without caring? We all make mistakes. But sending them out to customer?. You can see that I don’t write many reviews. But these people care so little about what they send you via UberEats I believe you should be forewarned. What about all the other great reviews you might ask? Hmmm… they all seem to be from in the restaurant. I wonder what the patrons where given for their post. Good luck!

This place is back to prepare the best brisket in the city (please look underneath at my old review). Is delicious! What is a misters for me is why they give the pickles cut in quarters and wrapped in clingy wrap plastic. Not just is a very small piece of pickle but is way a lot of plastic to waste; there’s not even need of a plastic. Charge 50¢ extra and put a full pickle and save time and money by not plastifying the vegs! ————————————————————————— For sometime the quality of food and service has gone down here. This was for years hands down the best brisket in town. The meat now is not soft and fatty and the woman at the front gives you sh.. when you want to order a fatty cut. I asked sauce on the side, a few times, as it has sugar and I don’t eat sugar and still, they smear it with the sugary liquid and then when you let her know she starts to argue back... Will start to look for the new best brisket in town! Please read here underneath my former review of this place:

For years, consistent quality in food and service. This is one of the best briskets in the city. Everything is great, I’ve...

The first time I went here I really liked the food. So I ask my boyfriend to come at this place again. When u come in you walk to the counter and order your food, sit down and they will give your food , when I payed my bill the lady cashier made a comment that I didn’t give her a tip. I was planning to give cash tip after we eat. But that comment really left a bad taste in my mouth

1st of all the only thing that lady did is give our order and take the dirty dishes out. 2nd you could at least tidy up the place and wipe tables. To be honest you don’t deserve a tip. In the end I still left a $10 cash tip.

It is sad that this lady server think that she is entitled to a tip when In reality you haven’t even serve us and that her serves is base upon the tip I am giving, because trust me when she saw I didn’t tip it’s like she doesn’t want to serve us. It’s just desperation at this point . Lousy...

Favourite BBQ restaurant in Toronto! If you're looking for fantastic, authentic BBQ, this is your place! From the outside, you wouldn't expect this place to churn out some of the best BBQ you'll ever eat - the restaurant is small and located in an older building in the university district. Leave your judgements at the door however, as the food served speaks for itself! Plus... the staff are super friendly, take pride in their roles, and are eager to offer advice and recommendations. 100% recommend when in Toronto, and will be back again! Update - September 10, 2025: This restaurant remains one of the top BBQ joints in Canada. Not exaggerating. Travel a fair amount with work, and this is at the top. A must-visit stop in Toronto.
