I was really excited to try this place! I love the garage window, the cute yellow mural, and the wooden table by the mural. Unfortunately, that's all that is good about this spot and I am disappointed. (They do have Pilot coffee, which is a win, but...I have the exact same ones at home, and truly today I should have just made my coffee at home.)
Vibe as I walked in was instantly hostile and cold? I don't know if they just woke up on the wrong side of bed today, or what? I ordered an iced oat milk flat white, and I asked what was 'on tap' today. "Community" was the one word answer - I'm familiar with Pilot so I know what this means but imagine I did not know shit about it and wanted to know more? She seemed annoyed at me for asking. Tall woman maybe in her 40's. She presents the till for me to pay and it says 'latte.' I say, excuse me, I didn't order a latte, I ordered a flat white. "We don't do that," she says. I point to the menu board on the wall, which clearly says flat white. She says "well it's iced and it'll have less milk." It's like, yes, that is the point??
Thankfully a younger barista stepped in and was like, "yeah, we can absolutely do that," and changed my till and gave me what I wanted, lol. I am honestly not sure why this was such a hard/confusing interaction for the original person I spoke to. She just put latte on the till and didn't even tell me her thought process for doing so. Just bizarre. It's unacceptable to change someone's order on the till without telling them, especially when it's for something more expensive than what you actually ordered...
Won't be back here ever, lol, despite the very Instagrammable mural. I brought a few books and a journal to stick around for an hour or two and just left immediately. The tables other than the wooden one by the mural were also flimsy? I put my bag on it while I was waiting for my coffee and It spun 90 degrees.
Skip it, you'll have a more pleasant experience at the Starbucks down the street - and for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has a lot of potential. First and foremost from the moment you walk in you can tell that a lot of time and effort was put into the decor and aesthetic of the cafe, the barista I was served by was friendly and quick getting my order, an Americano, but this is where I felt things fall short. when Iām spending $5+ dollars on a coffee (with a standard tip) I expected it to be a lot better than it was, it simply tastes too watered down. I really want to be able to support such local businesses like this, but at that price point I just canāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place only opened 3wks ago and already most of the tables were full! Spacious interior with cheery yellow walls and cute wall art. The barista was friendly and service was quick. I only got a latte to go but the apple gorgonzola scone looked interesting! Iām excited to try that the next time I go. Paper Route seems like the kind of place thatāll be around for a while and Iām looking forward to making it a...
