Blue River Pizza & More — Restaurant in Toronto

Hope everyone is getting through this crazy ‘ Winter Wonderland’,only24 more days til Spring!!😁

I’m back again sharing another wonderful ‘’find’ called ‘Blue River’

It’s tucked away just West of Woodbine Ave on Gerrard St on the South side a few stores over . On the first block.

I stumbled onto this delicious ‘ find ‘ a few months ago and haven’t stopped going there . A now regular favourite of mine : basic small pepperoni ,cheese ,extra sauce well done.Yummy!!

I have to tell you friends….. it’s a ‘the real deal’ and delectable! The price points are reasonable . If you happened to stop by on any Monday -Wednesday its $10.00 for a SMALL pizza ( any ONE topping) Walk in ONLY!!the price point is fair other nights anyway.

They also have a multiple selection of pizza s and other delicious recipes like their famous ‘Naked Wings’ with over 50 different toppings to choose from And ..loaded fries and flatbreads and let’s not forget their scrumptious deserts!! Their Smoothies are a favourite with various ingredients. They also have a selection of aperitifs and beer.

Myran ( proprietor)and his family run the kitchen and a lovely energetic lady named Jenny holds court in kitchen and at the desk. If you prefer to sit in you can enjoy a comfy , cozy table to relax and it’s clean!

All in all it’s not just the Pizza that Iured me in but I also come back for the wonderful service which is impeccable and it’s ‘old school ‘customer service. They ‘AIM TO PLEASE’ !!!

So the next time you are craving a true delicious pizza or other selections I promise you won’t be sorry and… you too will become a regular as I have. ENJOY!! Bonne appetite ! Ciao...

Giving 5 stars to support local businesses. This place could use some love from the neighborhood.

The good: food was made to order, piping hot and fresh. Cheese pull is like something you see on TV.

The could be better: we ordered two detroit style pizzas, and I'll have to say I was disappointed by the size and the dough. The size is smaller than it appears but, we eat with more than just our eyes. This is minor issue though because of the next point the dough is very dense and could use better proofing + elasticity. Eating my fair share of detroit style pizzas, this one was hefty and not in a good way. Because the dough wasn't light and airy, it felt like eating a solid block of dough. I felt full, but not in a comfortable way. Great detroit pizza should be fluffy on the inside, air pockets are a feature. My guess is there's either an excess of flour in the dough, the dough is overworked, or hydration level is on the lower side.

I placed an order at 836pm on a Friday night through Uber eats with an estimated arrival of 920-940pm via their own driver. At 10pm when my single pizza and garlic knots hadn't arrived I tried calling for an update. It went to voicemail.

When Uber called, they answered and told the rep that thr driver was on their way and my order would be there in 15 min. I am a 15 min drive away, so this means at this point it's taken them almost 1.5hrs to make the above mentioned food.

5 minutes later I got a notification from Ubereats saying that the driver (which the store uses their own) was no longer available for my order and they would assign me to another driver with Uber. Almost immediately another notification that my order was canceled by the store.

So the store lied when they said my order was on its way, they never made my food, canceled the order and 2hrs later I am without any food. Completely unacceptable. They may be fine for take out or dine in, but...
