After several pleasant experiences at this location, I am disappointed in the most customer service I received this evening. Upon entering the near-empty restaurant, I gave my order and was told to wait and take a seat because it would take "several minutes" before my order could be made. I sat down, wrote a list of errands for the next day, scrolled through my phone before I realized my order wasn't being attended to in a timely manner. In fact, another customer who had walked in well after me was being served right in front of me; I watched the staff member make his custom pizza before my margherita pizza was assembled. When she noticed my attention, she quickly threw mine together and instructed the other employee to cook mine first. Well, of course, it should have been made first -- I walked in several minutes before the other customer and patiently waited for my order to be made. I left disappointed in the timing because it's usually so quick.
I later called the store to explain why I felt that the experience was unpleasant. I asked to speak to the manager and it turned out to be the staff member who made my order. I explained what I saw and she proceeded to tell me off about how I misunderstood everything, there was only a difference a "few seconds" and that I was welcome to "review the security tape". Having worked in customer service, I would never squarely place the blame on a customer like this. I have been to this location before so I know the timing. Given that it was not busy, it did not make sense why my order was pushed back and I was made to wait for the other customer's order to be made nearly before mine. On the phone, the manager said she didn't want to make the other customer wait for mine to be made before his, which is ironic because I essentially watched her assemble his before mine was complete.
Given her rudeness, I will not be returning to...
Read moreTLDR Awesome pizza, fresh toppings, friendly staff
First of all when I entered the shop on Danforth I was greeted with a smile and a great smell of pizza being cooked in an oven capable of cooking a pizza in just 90 seconds.
From there I had a few menu choices of two pizza choices of a Margherita pizza for $10 or a create your own with choice of toppings for $14. I opted for the make my own because they toppings looked so good and fresh.
From there I had choice of San Marzano tomatoes, California pizza sauce, white sauce, pesto or BBQ sauce.
Then I had choice of many different cheeses from mozzarella, fior de latte and even blue cheese.
I went for mozzarella and fior de latte.
Finally choice of toppings which they have many to choose from I opted for bacon, chorizo, jalepenos, sun dried tomatoes and pineapple.
The pizza was ready after put in the oven at over 700 degrees in just 90 seconds.
The taste
The taste was great I loved the dough as it had a good char on the dough and was crunch and bitter but the sweet San Marzano tomatoes gave it lots of sweetness to balance the crunch and char on the pizza crust. The cheeses and toppings were fresh and flavourful.
Bottom line
Would I return? Yes 100%. The pizza is not the best I have ever had in my life but it is pretty darn good pizza for 90 second cook, toppings plentiful so I can try more combinations in the future and the restaurant was very clean and I felt comfortable there although this time I opted on takeout.
Thank you PiCo staff for making my first but certainly not last experience at your restaurant...
Read moreWent in and wanted to order tonight. Staff with glasses said "oh our oven is down so it's a 20 min wait". So we said no problem we didn't mind waiting. Then she kept flip flopping and saying "oh you know we have a lot of online orders" and "really? You still want to order?". We asked her if we could split toppings and her response continued to be about the pizza oven not working despite previously giving us a time line for when it would be up. She then reccomended for me, a very visually 9 month pregnant woman, to go to a 'close by location like Bay ...which is at least 25 mins on TTC.... like what? And then also told us we would be better going to their competitor pizza pizza across the street. All this instead of just saying "pur oven is broken we can't take orders". It was asanine, passive aggressive and just stupid. Don't tell customers to wait while you fix an issue when really.you just don't want them ordering. What a waste on a busy Fri night, wonder how many customers they lost esp considering on a busy holiday Friday night they also had a concert running across the street. Awful employee. If I was the owner...
