My friend and I went to The Younge St Warehouse after attending an event for pride weekend, as we knew Warehouse to be a budget friendly option. We were seated upstairs on the patio right away by the friendly host named Nick. Though we were seated right away, the table at which we were sitting was not clean (there were crumbs and cup rings of liquid from drinks past), and the menus were sticky. My friend and I took a look at the menu and decided on our food almost immediately as we weren’t planning on staying long. Usually at a restaurant downtown Toronto - especially on a weekend - you’d think that the service would be quick, but that was not the case for Warehouse. We sat and waited for about 30 minutes after being seated, and no one came around to take our order, nor did they offer us water. We watched as orders were taken from tables who arrived after us, and we were also ignored by staff who could see that we had evidently not been checked on. I had to stop a waitress, who was on her way to God knows where, and ask if we could get our order taken because no one had come around. Now, I’m not a server, but even I know that the customer shouldn’t have to stop a server from whatever they’re doing to ask to have their order taken. The waitress took our food and drink orders at the same time, and brought us water shortly after. We waited another 10 minutes for our drinks to come out while watching them sit on the bar for 5. Throughout our wait for the food we noticed an increasing amount of servers appear, none of which had come by to check on us either. The host who had seated us brought our food out, and once we were done eating we had asked the same server who was collecting our plates if we could receive the bill right away. We didn’t bother waiting for anyone to come around and ask if we wanted the bill, as we would’ve been waiting another 30 minutes. Additionally, the music in the restaurant was extremely loud, to the point where I felt that I was shouting at my friend to speak although she was right across the table from me. We felt disregarded on this visit to the Warehouse. From the dirty table and sticky menus, to the neglectful staff, I would NOT recommend that anyone visit this location if they’re looking for...
Read moreI went here 2 days in a row unplanned and this is a nice cozy place in terms of ambience. The first thing that really impressed me were the chairs and stools are extremely comfortable with the cushions. Lol. Just made me happy. The menu is so reasonably cheap ( What the price card should look like actually but unfortunately in Toronto everything is expensive and nothing comes closer to the Yonge street warehouse prices for burgers and items priced between 6-10$!). I have tried their fried calamari, tacos, nachos, potato skins and blue Hawaiian drink.
Of all I liked the calamari best. It was tasty. Then the tacos- Kinda fulfilling for the price- comes with 3 tacos. Potato skins were ah, alright, nothing great. And nachos were the low stuff i would say because they only had corns capsicums ( Bell peppers) on the first few chips and every other chip down below were dry!!! We left the nachos as is after having few chips here and there. On the second day when i went there i noticed a table "leave" behind the nachos too.
Blue Hawaiian drink was really refreshing- it had blue Curacao, pineapple and it also tasted sweet- so i think it had sugar syrup too? But it was nice!
Service was super fast- Serves are nice!
However, the second day when we went- Sunday evening- there were multiple tables empty- but there was no one at the reception for 3 songs- then comes someone saying- "gimme one sec"- and then disappears. - comes back again after 10 mins- for a place which was all empty- it took 20-25 mins just to be seated- which is as good as waiting in the queue lol.
Now comes the worst part of this place. THEIR EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC. I went on a Thursday evening first, and the music was horribly loud- like you couldn't even talk at all. You can go deaf with the music- and by screaming you have to do to even order a menu item- Extremely loud. TO be fair, the playlist is good- good songs.
Su day when i went- I lost my voice eventually at the end of the night.. writing this review on Monday morning and i cannot talk.
So overall i wouldn't really want to go here at all if i want to even meet someone over drinks or anything. Go here if you wanna be just sitting there nodding at each other and boozing your...
Read moreThe service was slow, non comprehensive and disappointing. Our server Laura, seemed as if she was disoriented. I asked for the Moscow mule and my boyfriend ask for a krackin and coke. She brought him a jack daniels & coke instead. My boyfriend then corrected her. She apologized then proceeded to get the correct drink. After about 45 minutes our appetizers came to the table. 10 minutes after our apps hit the table, she then proceeded to inform us, they were closing the patio. By then she asked if we would like another drink. Yes, I asked for another and my boyfriend declined. We then went ahead & ordered our mains right away. 10 mins later she still brought him a drink to the table when she brought my second drink. When he had expressed to her that he did not ask for the drink. She then, ignored and proceeded to serve the other guests. 15-20 mins after placing our mains. Everything came out and the waiters offered us to which tables due to the amount of food we had order. (No space on the table) The food was tasting alright but the wings were tasting under cooked. We then flagged laura down to ask for take out containers and our bill. Where I then emphasized that the drink was untouched and was not asked for. Laura took the drink & at that point she came back to the table to give us the containers. She asked if we were paying by machine or cash to my boyfriend. He said machine. Laura then walked away and sat down to continue rolling cutlery. Where again, I had to flag her down to ask for the machine. I proceeded to pay and did not leave a tip. Due to the service not being amazing. Laura then came back to the table to take up the plates, but slamming the plates angrily together in the process of doing so. I looked back surprisingly startled by the plates. She proceeded swearing from underneath her breath, loud enough for us to acknowledge what she was saying as we were heading down to leave the restaurant. Would I go back to wear house? Probably not, because this has been the type of service the we get presented with every time. Even after we had decided not to come in almost two years because of the same reasons. Truly a...
