The name gave me a laugh. "Shawarma Empire" - you got to be a hell of a shawarma restaurant to call it an Empire! Looking at the exceedingly 5 star rating, I was right around the corner and being lunch time I decided to try it out. It is a neat little place with a few tables. Would recommend taking out as the parking usually gets filled due to all the shops nearby and its not very appetizing to have your meal when hoards of people are standing before you waiting for the pickup order. I gave a quick look at the menu and ordered the Shawarma Plate. The guy was kind enough to explain me that it comes with salad and rice and could make it complete salad and rice as needed. I went with half and half. The Salad bar is screaming out freshness. I loved all their unique vegetables. It was quick and I was soon at the counter trying to pay for my order. Then an interesting incident happened that made sure am giving this restaurant a 5 star rating. Being from US, I only had my International Credit Card with no Canadian dollars on me and the restaurant only accepted Debit Cards or Cash. I said to the lady at the counter that I was sorry that I didn't notice the sign and asked her to cancel the order as I had neither of the payment methods. She hardly batted an eye and in an instant gave me the bill and said "That's okay Brother, pay me next time when you come by.. Have a good lunch". I was emotionally moved by this random kindness! And of course, I had a great lunch that day - it is still the tastiest food I have ever eaten from a restaurant. I understood that its not just taste that makes a food tasty - Kindness counts! I repaid my debt the next day thanking the lady again for her instant kindness and great food! Definite recommend!

Visited recently as one of the highly rated shawarma spots in the Lawrence West/Scarborough area. Shawarma Empire is one of the many Middle Eastern spots along Lawrence, and best known for their shawarma wraps and shawarma plates. Their shawarma plates come fully packed in a takeout box, fully filled to the top with rice (or fries), salad, hummus, garlic sauce and choice of meat along with a pita on the side. What was great was the rice, which was a marinated rice dish that paired very well with the meat chosen as part of the shawarma plate. The value alone for this is well worth it given the quantity provided in a single takeout box. If you are looking to try their shawarma plates, getting the Mix Sharwarma is a good way to try both of their meat offerings at the same time. Highly recommended just for the portion size and value alone. Note that they mainly take cash or debit, and seating is limited inside their restaurant so expect to take any orders to-go.

First time eating here and we went because this place is supposedly the best shawarma place in Toronto. The restaurant is quite small and it's at the end of a plaza right beside a car repair shop. Menu is quite simple, 2 shawarma "sandwiches" deal for $8.99. You can either get a beef or chicken shawarma. My family and I got two special to try. There was a long line up as soon as we ordered. Mind you we came Saturday around 5PM so I wasn't expecting such a long line. It took us a bit of time to get our order as the worker daintily assembled the order one shawarma at a time. We decided to get half spicy half not and didn't find the heat to be overwhelmingly spicy. The shawarma was a bit dry because the meat was super roasted so it's good if you like less sauce on the shawarma. I prefer saucier shawarma so I asked for some sauce on the side. Overall a good experience but I would look for other shawarma places to try!

A Shawarma Revelation: Forget Typical, This is Homemade Heaven! When you step into Shawarma Empire youd feel like stumbling upon a hidden culinary gem. Forget the usual assembly-line shawarma experience – this place is serving up something nice, a flavour profile that screams "homemade with love." From the first bite you'd know this isn't your run-of-the-mill shawarma, and frankly, my taste buds are singing its praises. The chicken here is a revelation – incredibly juicy, It's tender, flavorful, and avoids that dry, stringy texture that plagues so many shawarma spots. The beef is equally impressive, offering a rich and satisfying chew that complements the chicken perfectly. You can tell they aren't skimping on quality, and the care put into the preparation shines through. What truly elevates their shawarma is the distinct flavour profile. It's unlike any other shawarma I've tried – more nuanced, more comforting, almost like a dish your own family would make. It's a welcome departure from the often-predictable spices, offering a refreshing and exciting taste experience. don't be shy with the sauces! While the meat is fantastic on its own, the sauces truly bring everything together. I found the initial amount to be a little on the conservative side for my liking, and a generous drizzle really enhanced the overallflavorr. And speaking of heat, their hot sauce packs a serious punch! If you're a chili enthusiast, you'll be in heaven, but approach with caution if you're sensitive to spice. The Verdict: While I can't speak for everyone's palate, I wholeheartedly love the shawarma. It's a unique and delicious offering that stands out from the crowd. If you're tired of the same old shawarma and crave something that tastes homemade,...
