The Potato Bar on Lawrence Avenue — A Hidden Gem That Toronto Has Been Waiting For If you're anywhere near Lawrence Avenue and haven’t yet visited *The Potato Bar*, you’re truly missing out on one of the most exciting and delicious food experiences this city has to offer. This place is a *game changer* — not just for potato lovers, but for anyone who appreciates bold flavors, quality service, and a uniquely customized menu that simply has no rival in the neighborhood. From the moment you step in, the ambience tells you this isn’t your typical street-side joint. Clean, modern, and full of character — it’s got a welcoming vibe that invites you to sit down, relax, and let your taste buds take over. The service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff are not only friendly but genuinely passionate about their food, and it shows. Now let’s talk about the star of the show: **the food**. Each dish is crafted with care and creativity, blending traditional comfort with a fresh, international twist. Whether you’re building your own loaded baked potato, diving into a cheesy, spicy mash bowl, or trying one of their signature creations — you’ll quickly realize that *The Potato Bar* is not just filling a niche, it’s *redefining* it. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are bold, and every bite makes you wonder, “Why hasn’t this existed here sooner?” Best of all? You can customize nearly everything. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or a hardcore meat lover — there’s something for *you*, and it’s going to be unforgettable. **Warnings?** Only one: *be prepared to crave it again the next day*. Seriously. No other spot on Lawrence Ave can match this level of originality, taste, and heart. To the team at The Potato Bar: I wish you the very best. You’ve built something special, and Toronto is lucky to have you. To anyone reading this — go. Don’t think twice. This is the kind of local magic we’ve been waiting for.

Our first time at Potato Bar Scarborough! We ordered the Chilli Tots and Volcano Tots for takeout. The Chilli Tots: 6.5/10 - The chilli used was pretty tasty and we wish there was more put on top of the tots! We did ask for extra cheese as there was originally a small portion on it. The staff followed this request and put a bit more cheese on top without an extra charge which was nice. Volcano Tots: 6.5/10 - Overall, the bowl was a bit underwhelming. As we were eating this bowl, we felt like something may have been missing from it to elevate the taste. The roasted beef was very tender and flavourful which was a nice touch. Both servings were a bit smaller than expected as our meal did not fill up both containers. For the price paid (roughly $15 per bowl), we expected it to be a bit fuller and more toppings included. The customer service was great and both staff members at the front were very helpful and friendly, as it was our first time visiting. The food line and restaurant in general was very clean and the decor was super cute! Although our food rating was a bit mid, we would go back and try out a different menu item. They had a pretty good looking menu with a lot of protein options to choose from. We would definitely try the loaded potatoes next time!

Stopped by Potato Bar, located in one of Scarborough’s best food plazas at Warden and Lawrence. It fits right in with the strong lineup of eats in the area. The space is cozy, with the order bar set up at the back surrounded by ingredients, giving it a casual, laid-back vibe. The decor is a fun mix of nostalgia and modern charm, with their quirky potato mascot and playful history adding a light-hearted touch. Staff were quick and helpful, making the experience smooth from the start. We ordered the Mexican Fiesta and the Cluckin’ Fries. The Mexican Fiesta was loaded with roasted pulled beef, guac, salsa, sour cream, green onions, and both chipotle and BBQ sauces. It had a warm, homey feel to, each bite packed with layers of flavour. The Cluckin’ Fries came with fried chicken, coleslaw, pickles, and house sauce. The savoury kick from the chicken paired perfectly with the refreshing crunch of coleslaw which was easily the star component in that box. Overall, Potato Bar is a fun and flavourful spot worth checking out if you’re in Scarborough. A creative spin on comfort food done right!
