THE FOOD: Fantastic coffee (try the Hot Blondie if you love caramel), delicious baked goods (particularly the tea scones), and flavourful sandwiches. I especially love the turkey sandwich! Recommend you get it heated up. THE STAFF: Super friendly, patient and nice! Can make your coffee much better than Starbucks, in my opinion. They can, also, recommend you some seriously good coffee, to take home for a nice home-brew. THE SHOP: Comfortable. Re-purposed church pew on one side, with three tables for 2. On the other side, a table for 3. The self-serve area has a neat red rocket shaped garbage bin. Cool artwork on the walls. ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchairs can enter and exit the coffee shop, as well as the bathroom. However, neither the front door nor the bathroom door have automatic door function. Also, the coffee shop is narrow, so there may have some challenges navigating. For those with visual impairment, you can (obviously) bring in your service animal. For those who are hearing impaired, as far as I know, there are no staff members who know ASL - so please let me know, otherwise! THE DEMOGRAPHIC: Quite varied! You have people from all walks of life. Contrary to some people's opinion, it is not a hipster coffee spot. It's so good that so many locals come down for a morning brew, or an after work fix. Unfortunately, animals (other than service animals) are...
Read moreI am so disappointed! I have been coming to this location since it opened. I have complied with all government mandates and been wearing my mask every time I stepped into the red rocket.. I spend minimum $10 there A-day and always give a 20% tip. This morning when I went to get my usual, I entered without my mask as the mandates have now been lifted. I was automatically greeted with did you read our sign please put on a mask , I did not have a mask, which I told them and then said it's now by choice as the mandates have been lifted. The Barista, which by the way was wearing his mask but not covering his nose, Way to wear it properly! Then said well you have to wear your mask here.I did absolutely NOTHING wrong, it is no longer a law to wear your mask. Way to make someone feel segregated and not welcomed. You have lost a very very loyal customer. I will be now be giving all my business to the other local coffee shops in the area.Absolutely disgusting! And what makes this even funnier is there was not one single customer in the shop...
Read moreI was on a walk yesterday with my two year old and popped into Red Rockets on a whim, desperate for the perfect iced tea and a bit of reprieve from the heat.
I've tried many iced tea concoctions across the city and find most places are great with flavoured iced teas, but it's almost impossible to find the OG iced tea.
Until now.
THE most delicious iced tea I have ever tasted. Reminded me of my childhood. I'm still not over it, and already planning my next visit as I live midtown - was absolutely divine.
On top of that deliciousness, my toddler was in the mood for chocolate milk and they whipped one up from some heavenly ingredients (chocolate sauce?) and she too fell in love.
Wonderful location, very warm individuals behind the counter, all around good vibes in this cute and whimsical location.
This is the first time in my life I'm leaving a google review, that's how compelled I am after my experience at Red Rocket.
Go here for your next iced beverage, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you for making our Sunday...
