A&W Canada — Restaurant in Toronto

The first two or three times that I went here for takeout, it was ok and that's about all. The customer service was passable and the food was average but the prices were high. This past weekend, I went there to grab a "quick" dinner and I decided to try the new Beyond Meat burger. What a disappointing experience, all around. The two front counter staff members seemed so unorganized in getting everyone's orders out; the wait for my food was between 15 and 20 minutes - in a FAST food restaurant! - and none of the staff bothered to apologize to any of us for the unacceptable delays; the price was outlandish ($14 for a combo meal - it's no wonder fast food places stopped calling them "value" meals a few years back); and the food itself was awful. The burger was put together very sloppily and was quite small for the high price; the taste itself wasn't bad but it was at best lukewarm. The onion rings were cold and tasteless. I should have just gone down the street to Hero Burger, where I would have paid the same amount for a much more satisfying meal and likely a much shorter wait time. A&W used to be such a great place but I don't know if or when I'll be back if this is how their franchises are operated. I am over this place. I am not the one to leave bad reviews without a reason but I had it. It’s again 2 am, and I often go to grab food at night when I am finally hungry. I usually grab two different things such as ( either burgers or strips) and each of them I order with fries! Meaning individual fries. I even repeat myself and tell them twice 2 orders of fries. The reason for it it’s because one of them is for my roommate and me with my health I am not supposed to share food. I lived here for over 10 years so I know my way around. Each time at night they charge me correctly yet I go home and I only have one orders of fries. It happened now so many times I just can’t count. They literally charge me so they can keep the extra fires and cash it as tip. MANAGEMENT!!!!!! Where are you? I am fed up, I am tired of having to walk back and be treated as a junkie because they say I just want the extra fries. I am tired of sharing my fries with my roommate because your staff charges me for it, yet put it in their pockets. It’s always the same story for almost a year now. I work nights and prefer A&W for my late night snacks because of the quality of the food. Unfortunately this specific location does not represent the brand very well.

Took me 5 min to place my order even though there were 6 employees joking around in the back. They were speaking punjabi which I understood to be homophobic jokes about a guy wearing fitted overalls who was waiting for his order. It was a bad fashion choice but they didn't need to make jokes in another language about the guy especially because of the neighborhood the store is in.

When I was finally addressed and placed my order, the young woman at the cash immediately turned around, grabbed a bag that was waiting there and tried to give it to me. I asked if she was sure it was my order.....I was confident it was not as I had ordered 30 sec earlier.It was obviously not.

When I did get my order you could tell the burger and toppings were thrown together. My onion rings were overcooked and thrown in the bag

I believe this specific location could benefit from some sensitivity and process retraining.

Either way, this will be my last visit to...
