Rolltation - Asian Inspired Kitchen is a noteworthy spot for anyone in downtown Toronto seeking a quick and satisfying meal. I recently visited this compact yet charming eatery for lunch and chose the Miso Salmon poke bowl. The freshness of the salmon was immediately evident, and it was clear that quality ingredients are a priority here. The poke bowl itself was well-prepared and flavoursome, making for a delightful dining experience.
The venue is quite small, nestled amidst the bustling streets of downtown Toronto. This limited space means that while there is the option to dine in, seating is restricted. If you’re visiting during peak hours or with a larger group, you might find yourself waiting for a spot. Given the limited seating, many customers choose to grab their food to go, which seems to be a popular option. However, the snug, intimate atmosphere does contribute to the place’s appeal, giving it a cosy, neighbourhood feel that contrasts nicely with the busy city outside.
One of the highlights of my visit was the friendly and attentive service. Despite the small size of the restaurant, the staff were efficient and welcoming, striking a good balance between being present and allowing diners to enjoy their meals in peace. They managed the small space with a professionalism that ensured everyone received prompt and courteous service. This personal touch in customer service is something that enhances the overall dining experience and sets Rolltation apart from other quick-service establishments.
The overall atmosphere at Rolltation is pleasant and casual, which aligns well with its role as a convenient dining option in a busy urban area. While the space might be tight, it’s well-maintained and reflects the restaurant’s focus on providing quality food and service. The poke bowls, like the Miso Salmon, are prepared with care and offer a refreshing option for a quick meal.
In summary, Rolltation - Asian Inspired Kitchen is a fantastic choice for a fresh, tasty meal on the go or a brief sit-down in downtown Toronto. The small size of the restaurant and limited seating might require a bit of patience during busy times, but the quality of the food and the warm service make it a worthwhile stop. Whether you're grabbing lunch between meetings or just in the mood for some well-prepared poke, this place is worth a...
Read moreA Consistently Delicious Experience at Rolltation
Rolltation has become a go-to spot for my boyfriend and me, and it never fails to deliver a delightful dining experience.
On our recent visit, we decided to try the Umami Poke Bowl, and it did not disappoint. The flavours were exceptional, and it's safe to say that it was one of the best poke bowls we've had. The salmon, in particular, was a standout—fresh and delicious.
However, there's room for a slight improvement when it comes to the rice to kale ratio; too much kale and not enough rice. While the flavours were on point, a bit more balance in this department would make the bowl even more enjoyable.
The eggs in the dish were decent but didn't stand out as anything special. They could perhaps experiment with different preparations or seasonings to make them a more memorable component of the dish.
Despite these minor quibbles, Rolltation consistently impresses us with its quality and taste. It's clear that they prioritise using fresh ingredients and creating dishes that cater to different tastes.
Overall, I'd rate our experience at Rolltation a solid 4 out of 5. If you're a fan of poke bowls and looking for a reliable spot to satisfy your cravings, Rolltation is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back for...
Read moreI paid 26$ for a make your own salad bowl (that was with add ons and premium toppings). I got off work, hungry, on my period and going to take the subway home and I wanted to eat it on the way so I said it was for Togo and no cutlery was given or napkins or anything. I paid for extra sauces/ dressings and did not get the ones I asked for, it is pretty important since it’s a salad bowl and that kinda just ruins the taste of the whole salad. I’ve been going here for years as a favourite and this location for three years but I’ve noticed in the last months that the prices are higher and the portions smaller. The girl also I guess left the lid a bit open or didn’t put it in the bag properly/carefully since some of it spilt out and made a mess in the bottom of the bag and on all the containers. The salmon specifically looks less than it was some months back. And I paid extra for premium toppings avocado and crab, (my top two favourite toppings i get/big part of the reason why I get these poke bowls) I got zero! The bowl in general looked less full than all the other times, I asked for a bit extra of the included/free toppings because of that and they said they aren’t allowed to. The past years I’ve been going to different locations and I’ve never heard that before...
