In all honesty I like the concept but at the same time was a bit disappointed.

I ordered the classic salmon burrito. I asked for no corn and edamame instead on it, and even though it wasn’t busy and the guy who took the order went “ok yep” and wrote it down on the slip, he still (the exact same guy who took my order) just made it with corn instead really fast and rushed it off to the cashier before I could even say anything. Right off the bat I was kind of mad.

When I got home to eat it, I felt like it was a bit too expensive to be worth buying again. You can taste the money in your mouth- what I mean by that is that clearly the salmon is fresh and all of the ingredients are high quality... but irregardless it all feels a bit overpriced and cheapy in its overall construction. Some of the ingredients in the premade wraps include leaf lettuce, tangerines, and other standard wrap stuff, and it makes it taste like you’re just eating a regular wrap since they tend to be bigger and with a stronger taste than salmon or fish eggs. The wasabi and soy sauce provided make it taste more like a sushi burrito, but they only give you one pack of the crappy paste stuff and since you have to put it on top yourself it doesnt seem well distributed. If they took more time making your wrap and carefully put a bit of wasabi throughout and gave you more soy sauce, I could see it being more of a novel experience.

All in all, the wrap I ordered tasted like a generic wrap I could get from anywhere, just with some rice and seaweed on the outside. Sure, it was a high quality wrap, but considering the price I can’t justify it. Maybe if I made my own wrap and didnt have the top of the menu premade one it could be more interesting, but as it stands i’m not paying 17 dollars multiple times to experiment with something I thought was mediocre. This combined with the botched service knocks it down to a 2.5 for me.

My tl;dr recommendation: if you’re interested in the novelty or have money to burn go ahead and try it once, it’s got high quality ingredients... but overall not...

I recently visited this establishment and had a disappointing experience with the staff’s conduct. I usually tip well and have great respect for people in the service industry, but this visit left me feeling disrespected = no tip.

As I approached the counter, I had my payment ready in cash just in my pack pocket. though I hadn’t yet been asked my payment method. Without asking, the cashier activated the debit machine went behind the counter, and it seemed as though they talked and made an assumption about me. I was holding two grocery bags with work supplies, and I can’t help but feel they presumed I was a homeless person, which led to some sort of unspoken judgment.

While I was taking a moment to set my things down and grab my payment, the cook began yelling from behind the counter that the debit machine was ready—even though I was clearly holding cash. This interaction was uncomfortable and unnecessary. It’s unacceptable to treat any PERSON this way—whether they’re homeless or a paying customer. No one should be yelled at in a professional environment, especially over something as simple as a payment method.

The food here is great, but this experience has made me think twice about returning. Customer care should be a priority for all staff members, regardless of their role.

In addition treating homeless people poorly seems like such an ethical failure on part of all of the privilege that Canadians have. Truly a shame that this is the way Rolltation conducts themselves.

I would recommend that the staff maybe be paid more and given gentle persuasion approach training to staff as there is a high homelessness population. people that are homeless. Instead of yelling at them.

Great food....

⚠️ WARNING! THIS PLACE ADDS ON AN AUTOMATIC "TIP" WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE/PERMISSION, EVEN FOR TAKE OUT. WHAT YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN WHEN YOU ORDER YOUR FOOD, THE TOTAL THAT IS IN GREEN, IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL PAY. ⚠️

So I actually had a REAL ISSUE with this place today, secretly tacking on an extra $4 to my bill without my knowledge or permission.

The TOTAL on the screen, in green, which you can see from my photo below, clearly shows the total price as $25.74. That was my total and that is what the lady behind the counter said to me before asking how I was paying. I slapped my visa on the tap and then instantly saw $29.16 appear on the machine. I told the lady behind the counter that I think there was a mistake as my total was supposed to be $25.74. Her reply was "this is after tax and tip, thank you." At NO POINT did I select a tip option as I was grabbing take out and at NO POINT did I ever see $29.16 as my total on the screen. It clearly shows $25.74. If you look at the receipt, tax was already included, so claiming that $29.16 was "after tax and tip" was a LIE. Also adding on an extra $3.42 for a tip, WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR PERMISSION is extremely inappropriate and deceitful.

Thus fraudulent maneuver warrants a single star. I'm not even going to talk about the food and quality etc because there's no point. And it's actually too bad, because the food was pretty decent. (Not as good as Poké Guys, but...

A cute Rolltation location next to a College Station entrance (southeast corner). The staff was thorough and the restaurant was clean. It satisfied the sushi cravings! Designed like the other Rolltations, you will see familiar interior motifs and graphics. There are some seats near the windows that you can dine in at. Every Rolltation has a nice order system from start to finish and their system takes cash and credit. The staff were nice and organized with the orders. We custom ordered with the starting point of burrito or bowl format, protein, toppings and sauce. The sushi burrito ends up pretty big in portion size. You can ask them to cut it in half if needed. They give soy sauce and wasabi as well. The quality of the ingredients was good. With a big burrito, you are bound to have items fall out and create a mess.
