135 Rooms Coffee: Your Japanese Hideaway on Ossington
First Impressions: I strolled into 135 Ossington around 8:30 AM as they opened their doors. And let me tell you, it's like stepping right into a cafe in Japan. The interior design is on point, embracing Japanese culture in every detail. Japanese statues, artworks, and magazines set the scene perfectly.
Now, let's talk about their backyard—it's an amazing environment with a stunning mural featuring a fox. In Japanese culture, the fox is a symbol of significance, so it adds an extra layer of charm to the place.
But the real secret happens in the basement. It's this chill, secret hideout that's all wood and even has floor seating in one corner. It's a total standout in Ossington's café scene.
Experience: The vibe at 135 Ossington is everything you'd want in a cozy café. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I wish I'd caught the barista's name, but she was awesome company during the café's quiet hours. The music was perfectly in tune with that weekend vibe, whether you're chilling or getting some work done.
Food/Drink List: Hojicha Latte: This is the star of the show. Not many places serve up an authentic Japanese tea latte, but 135 Ossington does. If you're tired of the same old matcha latte, I'd recommend trying this!
Latte: If you're in the mood for a classic coffee experience, they've got you covered.
Butter Croissant: These croissants are generous and tasty, unlike some of those tiny café offerings.
Overall: To wrap it up, 135 Ossington is a top pick for Japanese café lovers. It checks all the boxes, from the killer Japanese-inspired design to the serene backyard and the hidden gem of a basement. Whether you're a culture enthusiast or just love a good café, this place is a must-visit. So, if you're itching for an authentic Japanese café experience in the heart of Toronto, make your way to 135 Ossington. It's worth every...

This cafe has the best interior design from all the cafes I have been so far! 🥰They also have this open area in the front of the cafe where they usually open if its sunny so customers can sit there and enjoy some coffee and enjoy the street view! 👀Other than coffees and lattes, they also serve croissants 🥐and pastries! If you come to this cafe, you should definitely try their…
☕️Hojicha Latte ☕️ Recently, I have been craving Hojicha Latte aheheh and this was the best Hojicha Latte I have tried so far! It was so rich in Hojicha flavour! 😤I got it with no sugar so the Hojicha flavour was very strong! The latte art was also so so pretty, totally in love with it! 😎
🥐Raspberry croissant 🥐 I also got this croissant and it was so good! 😌The raspberry cream in the middle of the croissant was so flavourful and added a spark of freshness to the croissant! The pink sprinkles on top made the croissant more crunchy! It was so yummy and I am definitely coming back for it! 🖤 Their service was very good as they were very helpful and quick even when there were a lot of customers! 😲I saw that they also have chess for customers to play which I thought was pretty good! 😗
Thank you for the great hospitality and...
Read moreSan Coffee Room is ran by some passionate guys. These aren't your typical baristas you'd think of at a Starbucks or even at a high end third wave movement cafe of a big chain; they're even better than the best you have in mind. One of the co owners Brodie pours his passion, blood and sweat into this place making custom menus, providing samples of new coffees or teas, giving advice about coffee making tools (aero press vs pour overs ), running workshops, bringing freshly roasted beans from local roasters, and giving feedback when he can. The guys amazing. Plus when he's not in the shop he's out traveling to different parts of the world with coffee as the main agenda and bringing all that knowledge back to this cafe and to his customers.
Another great aspect of this cafe is the type of ambience it has. People come here to work, go on a date, have some alone time, sure, but also share a common space and get to know other people in the community. You won't leave this cafe without meeting and talking to someone new on a regular basis. The people who come here are really welcoming, a reflection of the owners of this cafe as well.
Frankly speaking, I visit about 2~3 cafes a day to work out of and I don't think I've ever set foot into a better cafe.
Great wifi too, and plenty of...
