While I think there is a huge market for these types of smash burgers the biggest drawback to this place is cost. Let’s be real and say that its tiny portions, I mean even a double patty and fry did not fill me up. Taste wise the burgers are not bad, tasty, a little messy, but hey it’s a burger and the thin fries were well salted. What bothers me is that a small double patty cheeseburger with bacon, fries and gravy cost just over $19. I get that these burgers are now a fad in Toronto, something I am not in love with, but cost is way too high for anyone to eat there regularly. I suggest that when the “new” normal is gone Rudy will be too.

The other thing that really bugged me is that the pics online and in reviews look like burgers, while mine looked like someone decided to sit on it before putting it in the bag. I mean let’s have some pride in the food we prepare and sell folks, even burgers deserve some love.

Last but not least, communication. We messed up with the ChowNow system in that we sent our order for ASAP instead of later in the day. When we called to say “can we get it later” we were told that the order was already on the grill and being prepared. When got there the order was not being prepared and was being put aside for later. Sure we got an apology for the mess up but that was a big issue, communication was lacking between the 4 or 5 employees in the store. Even worse was the lack of call back to the client to say “hey no worries we got yah”. It’s the little things that go a long way, and I hate to complain because it’s a tough industry to be in, but lack of communication and a small apology just made the whole evening worse.

They got lucky with...

I live in the neighborhood and was craving a burger. I decided to give Rudy’s one more try. My two experiences prior were not good. When I first started eating Rudy’s burger they were so delicious. Juicy on the inside and a beautiful crust on the outer edges. I explained to the staff last week that I was giving Rudy’s one last try. I explained my last two experiences were not good as the burgers were super dry. They assured me, the burger this time would be juicy and it was more dry than the last two times. In fact not only was it dry, the burger fell apart when I took my first bite. I also decided to try the banana pudding and was mislead. First off it’s way too expensive and all it was crushed up banana cream pie in the smallest cup for $6. I got crust, whip cream and next to no pudding. I went in and spoke to the manager and she was lovely but I explained I will not be returning and will not hesitate to tell people in the area of my bad experience with the burger. I had recommended Rudy’s to friends of mine and they also received a super dry burger. It’s too bad because Rudy’s was one of the best tasting burgers and now all you get is a dry burger that falls apart when you pick it up. I thought finally a great burger place on the Danforth and I was wrong. The burgers are small and very expensive. They should not be dry and falling apart. I do not recommend...

I first learned of RUDY a few months ago. It looked like a classic burger joint that I would really like. I finally had the chance to try it. Was I disappointed? Not quite. Was I just a little bit underwhelmed? Absolutely. My experience at this location was good but nothing to write home about. The dining area was simple, but stark. The kitchen was visible, but unclean. The menu was refined, but overpriced. I do not feel that I got good value. The burger that I ordered was $13.49, the small poutine was $7.99, and a can of pop was a shocking $2.49! I wouldn't have thought twice about the cost if the burger had been better. The smash burger did not have enough ground beef. There was an issue with the beef-to-bun ratio. The potato bun was good. The RUDY sauce was delicious. I would have liked more toppings on the burger. The lettuce, onions, pickles, and American cheese were all tasty. The poutine with thick-cut fries was absolutely perfect. There is no way that any component of that dish could have been improved. The can of pop was a ripoff. The customer service was great. As a matter of fact, we were even given a complimentary brownie because it was our...

NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!! I wished I had read the reviews prior to going there for lunch! How do they justify this? A tiny baby burger that would leave a toddler still hungry!! I was craving a burger so I went to Rudy. (First time) Ordered a cheese burger and a can of pop. I was shocked when they handed it to me! I actually felt embarrassed for them! The burger was a tiny baby size burger, smaller than a happy meal at McDonald’s!! Price for the burger and pop? $15‼️‼️ And to make matters worse they asked for tip on the debit machine which I felt obliged to give!! I’ll never set foot in that restaurant again unless I need to feed some birds or hamsters!! Hey Rudy’s THE BEST CUSTOMER IS A REPEAT CUSTOMER!!!

Decided to finally try Rudy being a burger fanatic and trying different Toronto Burger Staples none have been talked about more than Rudy. So while on the Danforth I decided to try it. I decided to get the Rudy Mac which is supposed to be obviously a copy to the Big Mac . Don't get me wrong it was a fantastic Burger I didn't get to try the fries due to Covid restrictions in Toronto. I would like to go back and try their poutine over all the burger is very good cooked on the flat top which I'm not a fan of it's on the same level as holy chucks burgers Priest five guys good job on the Rudy Mac. Service was good and price point wasn't too bad I will return as I want to sit down and have the fries poutine etc
